L'Auberge Baton Rouge turning into the other 2 BR Casinos

Just heard Lauberge is doing layoffs because their bottom line is so down.
That place is on the way to becoming the Belle and Hollywood. Why did anyone think they could put a destination casino when NO and the Gulf Coast were just around the corner?

Got bought out in October and first round of layoffs was in January.
This is about the declining BR gaming market. Smoking and Mississippi having sports betting has cut the legs out from this area.

I like it too, but it's declining.

Limited market. New Orleans one direction and Lake Charles the other have better options

yep pretty much it. There busiest days are always when LSU host Bama or A&M and they get those extra high rollers

Count me in the camp that believed their only chance was to bring in s higher class patron by offering good entertainment, some good restaurants and giving folks extra reasons to go there.
They tried, but haven’t pulled it off, and now BR has three casinos or two too many.
But that’s BR’s problem, they annexed it.

It’s amazing, casinos complain that they’re not making enough profit, the state takes too much of a bite, and the state complains that casino revenue just isn’t enough. Patrons lose money over the long haul, so that just leaves me puzzled as hell...

Louisiana slow to the sports betting legalization. Way to go LA politicians. Keeping us last ain’t easy. They have to work at it.

This x1000... decided by people who rarely if ever visit a casino...
