I went back to the estate sale in St Gabriel today, to do so more hunting.
LINK to what I bought there Thursday
I spent a total of $5
Electric coffee mug
LSU button & jigger pour/beer opener/cocktail recipe
Woodburning plaques including some unopened in package
Tiffany & Co sterling key chain
14k gold earring (just one), already sold for scrap for $50. It weighs 2 grams
The earring and keychain were in a box full of junk.

Does anybody buy sterling jewelry pieces?

Antique- random question. Do you know where I could sell a decent amount of metal brackets and standards taken from a warehouse?

Yes, especially the Mexican/Native Indian silver jewelry of the southwest.
Plus, sterling is just valuable in its self. I usually just rat hole the sterling jewelry I find until I get a good amount, then sell it bulk.
I will sell the Tiffany keychain by itself. Should bring $50+

Not really, Facebook market place maybe your best bet

Antique, since you visit these a lot, what company would you recommend for running an Estate Sale? Probably will be having to do one within the next couple years. TIA!

Depends on the size, value of the estate.
NL Estate Sales is the best in BR, but she only does million dollar homes in Bocage or some other high end neighborhoods. She only does 4-5 sales a year.
Acadiana, Two Sisters, Graywood are very good.

I was in there last month. I checked before I walked in what silver spot price was. ($21.50/oz.) They told me they could not buy silver for much since spot price was only $15/oz. I checked it again when I left to be sure.
Yep, they are crooks.

Come to find out, the Tiffany keychain may do very well.

I hit estate and garage sales frequently, and am amazed at the jewelry I have found, mixed in with junk jewelry. Several years ago there was a table with costume jewelry piled up $5/piece, and one of the pieces I chose was a gaudy, big, gold bracelet…Got home, went over it with a loupe, and it was marked 18k! No one, including me, dreamed it was "real" gold because it was so chunky. I don’t use a loupe at sales, (price immediately goes up at garage sales, and no time at estate sales) , so I buy a few pieces that look decent quality (even costume jewelry varies widely in quality) that I want to wear, or maybe I can eBay. That piece I brought to a refining (scrap) place. MY eyesight is too poor to have a prayer of reading marks without a loupe, so I go by instinct at sales. I love getting home and checking my finds !

Yes, I don’t bring my loop with me either. Up until about 5 years ago, I could read the fine print on a flea’s arse. Now, not so much. The earring I found, I could tell there was a mark, but couldn’t tell what. For less than a dollar, I risked it.
Like my dad use to say, “I’d watch monkeys hump for a dollar”.

If you ever come across antique monkey humping ticket stubs, I better be your first call.

The first day, there were 30+ pairs of Levi’s work pants from the 50’s for $25 a pair. Some guy from New Orleans bought them all.

Old Levi’s are money.
