Saw a headline that there was a crash on Nicholson near U Club/Lexington with a fatality. Anybody know what happened?

I live right there. Don’t have firm details on how it happened but 2 fatalities and one (???) critical condition. Helicopter was here to transport survivor to hospital.
Think someone was tying to pass multiple cars and didn’t make it back in their lane in time.
The sound of the accident was enormous. People on golf course could here it.

Saw it as I was turning into my neighborhood. One vehicle was engulfed in flames.

Per WBRZ- BATON ROUGE - One person was killed and two others are in critical condition after a head-on crash Saturday afternoon outside the Lexington Estates neighborhood.
Authorities said the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. at the corner of Nicholson Drive and Lexington Lakes Avenue. The vehicles hit head-on and one of them flipped. It is unclear if the person who died was a passenger or a driver.

It seems it is adequate at 2 lanes. Maybe at times there is a lot of cars on it, but not at 6pm on a Saturday. People need to abide by simple traffic laws and use common sense.

Nicholson has always freaked me out for this exact reason. God this is nightmare fuel, those poor people

It happened right before I got to it. Couldn’t tell what happened but I’m guessing someone crossed the center line. A toyota 4runner was engulfed in flames & what looked like a Mazda suv was crushed on the other side the road. Lots of people were out trying to help but didn’t seem like there was much anyone could do. It was a terrible scene.

I wonder what time this was because I saw two choppers fly over my house around 5pm. I'm near to location. They were heading towards OLOL

Happened right before 6. I live near the scene and heard the helicopter fly over my house a little after 6.
Video on nextdoor said someone was driving like an a-hole weaving around traffic, probably what caused the wreck.

About 5:45 I drove up on it. The 4Runner wasn’t in flames yet. I hope everyone got out.

Please refer back to your first sentence to answer your question.
Can verify there was a bad wreck and the road was closed off. Had to circle around from River Road and come up the back way to get home a little while ago.

I've been on 30 and some a-hole was trying to pass with very little room before oncoming traffic...if I didn't slow down by like 20 mph he would not have made it in time.
