OT: Off shoot from the Internet thread... what new vernacular do you dislike the most?
I hate when anyone uses the phrase "body count" to mean getting laid - all of them.
What are yours?

Gaslight - it’s technically not all that new but it’s become trendy to say even though hardly anyone ever uses it correctly.

I agree 100%
People started using gaslighting and had no idea what it meant really.

It comes from a 1940s Ingrid Bergman movie where her husband tries to drive her insane, so he can get his hands on her money. So he does little things to confuse her & make her think she's going crazy.
The word is used in a 70s MASH episode. In another they try to gaslight a visiting colonel (Leslie Nielsen), though the word itself is not used.

Baby bump.
Purely irrational, but I've hated that with the heat of a thousand suns ever since the first time I saw it.

Yeet is kinda gay.
But so are a high percentage of millennials and even higher percentage of zoomers.
So knowing as a cis-gendered white male I’m a relic of the past, I don’t really let speech bother me.

Narcissist. Seems like a catch all phrase for someone who does things you don’t like.
