LINKRoosevelt State Park. It’s nice and not a far drive. It’s off I-20 and east of Jackson.

Looks like that’s just for RV’s or traditional tents

Lake Tiak O’kata (sp). Louisville,Ms.

The whole place has a “summer camp” kind of feel. It has boats/ paddle boats that you can rent and a damn good restaurant on site. Nothing is fancy, but it is a damn comfortable place.

my dad let me drive the boat for the first time about 30 years ago at this park. I remember the lake being HUGE.

I was recently in the area and passed through the park. the lake couldn't have been more than 300 acres. RIP dad...good memories

Keep them coming.
Last minute idea in a few weeks so most of what has been mentioned is booked and rightfully so.

There are a few nice parks with cabins in south Mississippi. Paul b Johnson south of Hattiesburg is nice. It has cabins and a campground. You can fish and there is a playground for the kids.
We are headed to Big Creek in Soso Ms this afternoon. It’s part of the Pat Harrison waterway district. They have cabins as well. The fishing is good here. It’s a few minutes from Laurel.

Brushy Creek Guest Ranch in the Homochitto. Cabins, a pond, a little creek to play in. Not as good as it was 20 years ago, but still seems like a good place to go with your kids for a weekend getaway. 1.5 hours from BR.
