Anti-Haitian feelings rising in Dominican Republic

Gang wars in Haiti are causing thousands of Haitians to cross over into the Dominican Republic. The DR has cracked down on this illegal immigration by rounding up the Haitians and sending them back. Imagine how much of a shithole Haiti is to have the DR be an upgrade worth sneaking into. Also, sounds similar to the situation at home. Interestingly enough, the comments on this video are pro-DR side.

Haiti is the worst place in the western hemisphere
DR is a pretty standard developing Caribbean country. Not great not terrible. Nice tourist areas. Kinda like Jamaica.

The DR needs to bring the ladies from The View down to explain to them how they are supposed to act/feel as minorities. Obviously they just don’t know

Dominicans have ALWAYS hated Haitians. I went to the DR on a mission trip, some locals found a Haitian walking the beach and chased him down and damn near stoned the dude to death. shite is wild

Depends where you are.
Touristy areas of Jamaica are good, as are the tourist malls with security.
Kingston, OTOH, is like Detroit and you don’t want to go anywhere off property without security in much of the rest of the country.
While I don’t like Jamaica a lot, it is still a safer destination than, say, tourist areas of Mexico these days. You aren’t even safe in the resorts in Mexico.
