Ghost Story that just happened to me

I'm agnostic about ghosts, I just say I'm open minded. I don't believe or not believe in ghosts.


I have lived in my house for just over 6 years. Never really had a ghostly encounter, other than just human nerves from time to time.

Until two weeks ago, and again tonight.

Two Saturdays ago, family get-together. At one point my wife and her sister sneak out to the garage for sister-talk, and it's also where my wife's hobby table is. Yes, I am aware than I am a cuck for allowing my wife to claim square footage in my garage, but that's for another topic. Anyway, me and my brother in law are sitting down inside making small talk. The door knob on the door to the garage starts turning back and forth, so I figure these wine-drunk women must have locked themselves in, so I get up and walk over and open the door. They are both on the other side of the garage by the hobby table and they said "can we help you?" like I was interupting their chit chat. I explained the door knob was turning back and forth and I thought they were trying to get in, they just rolled their eyes and went back to their chit chat, and I chalked it up to "well, one of them had to be trying to open that door" and my BIL as a witness agreed.



I didn't think much about until tonight.

I'm sitting at my computer, kid in bed, wife got an emergency on-call so had to drive in to work. Home alone.

I heard clickety bang click clack. What the frick was that? I went up stairs and the child was sound asleep, looked all around the house to see if the cat knocked some shite off off a bathroom counter, nothing. Finally opened the basement door (not the garage door, but right next to it) and there's a bottle of ant poison and a putty knife just laying on the threshold, previously in a door-hung basket. They just hopped out of the basket all by themselves and onto the floor.


A 3rd thing I just thought of while typing this, my child decided this week he doesn't want to sleep alone anymore because he's scared. He's never been scared of the dark before, but kids are kids so I didn't think anything of it. Just now putting two and two together. Now I'm wondering if he's seeing spooky shite lately too. I don't want to ask him, because I don't want to put stuff in his mind, parents understand what I mean.
