Inguinal Hernia surgery...how bad is it?

Just got diagnosed with it after an hour of awkwardness via ultrasound on my balls (no pics).
How bad is the surgery? What's the recuperating time like?

Just go to a chiropractor and get it fixed instead of letting a quack “doctor” do “surgery” on you

Not your best effort, Gaucho.

No ball cutting involved in hernia repair

surgery is easy. You're anesthetized.
6 weeks recovery. You'll feel good by about 4 weeks but don't get crazy. I have the mesh. Should've let them cut me open and sewn it. But laparoscopic is so much easier. Taking a shite the first few days was a pain. You can't strain and getting off the shitter isn't easy. Dont pick up anything heavier than a milk jug.

I’ve had 4 laparoscopic mesh repairs,,,first couple days you are really sore, after that you are good to go.

Do yourself a favor and get anti nausea meds just in case. Day two my stomach turned upside down from the pain meds and theres nothing worse than dry heaving after surgery on core muscles.

I think my surgery lasted all of 40 minutes (maybe less). I didn't take the prescription pain meds post op. Never had enough discomfort to need them. Soreness lasted a couple of days. Pland to wear sweat pants or loosed fitting clothes for a while. wont be able to drive for a few days as well.

That ultra sound is not fun! Okay, calmly google but from what I remember... some minor risk of infertility, colostomy bag, and possible higher risk of future hernias. Trouble is without hernia repair you could experience strangulation, necrosis, and sepsis. So it's better to contend with it. Sorry you're going through this. Good luck

I have one as well. Going to the doctor after the first of the year to get it fixed

thats why I didn't take them as well. No need to take an opioid for mild pain.
