Had a Conversation with a Flat Earth Believer Today

He was totally convinced of the Earth being flat. I asked him about satellite photos of Earth, ships that go around the world, planes that take trips around the world and everything else I could think of, but he was totally convinced and argued with me about it.
This guy is a somewhat normal and smart guy that has a family and a great job. I just cannot understand it. Just blows my mind…

It isn't unusual to believe things that are true.

He has a high IQ, is relatively immune to ridicule or social pressure in general, is honest with himself, analyzes things critically and rationally, and he took a deep dive and studied it.

He likely doesn't have any of those things.

Maybe he's right and you're wrong.
Even if you know nothing of the math and science, sphere-like rocks floating in space seem more likely than discs.

How did you prove him wrong?

Do you have any of those that haven’t been edited with computer software?

Answer me this. Why don’t they point that fancy telescope at Earth?

That’s the thread I was referencing. I assumed it was done. I noticed after my previous post that I was quite wrong

Don't waste your time talking to an idiot.

Do you understand why?

Flat earthers tend to be literalist creationists. Earth is inherently special, so arguments like that don’t work like they would for most people.
