USFL - XFL Merger will have 8 teams

USFL - XFL Report
From the Detroit news link above -
Joining the Panthers in the new league will be the USFL's teams in Birmingham (which won both the 2022 and 2023 titles), Houston (another legacy team) and Memphis (only in the league in 2023). The XFL will contribute the Arlington Renegades (the Texas squad which won that league's 2023 title), the DC Defenders (the 2023 runners-up), the San Antonio Brahmas and the St. Louis BattleHawks.
Looks like the Breakers, the team with the best uniforms, won't be joining in 2024.

I'm not sure how DC did attendance wise, but the other three XFL teams appeared to have decent crowds. St Louis did extremely well.
On the USFL side, Houston didn't play at home but the XFL team in Houston appeared to draw decent crowds at UH's stadium. Birmingham did okay, Memphis and Michigan were a little less than Birmingham.
I would think all these teams will play in their home cities in the new league. I'd like to see a strong Spring League, but history is not on their side.

I have very much enjoyed the USFL and hope it continues. I could not get into the XFL games; so, I hope this effort is more USFL than XFL.
