Curious if some bigger schools will work together to put some controls on such ridiculous requests like this. So what if you don't get paid to visit? Will you refuse to sign with any school?

The kids want to know where they are on the pecking orders… because schools will pay that for some to visit but not others
And the big time teams have to pay that… because they absolutely positively cannot ever be perceived as “cheap”. That’s worse for recruiting than losing

You know how that practice became common? The 1st few idiots said yes. You’re fricking Ohio State. Don’t let a bunch of high schoolers shake you down for 5 grand just to step on campus.

You can end that practice pretty quick.
Get schools on board to refuse those requests.
These players need a Bama, Ohio St, Michigan much more than the school needs them.

Kinda funny bringing this up when schools with 10 and 11 figure endowments are still charging you a 50-100 dollar application fee just to electronically send them some paperwork.
