By far the biggest mismatch in the series. Nuggets cried for respect all playoffs then started getting so much respect it was already assumed they would win the championship. Now uh oh. That plan sort of backfired. They could have waited till the end to say we got no respect. All this to say they can still win but I’d have to pick Miami now due to Spo > Malone

I’m still picking Denver, but damn, that Heat bunch is tough…they believe in themselves, and they are very mentally tough…

This may very well be true, but Miami is not a better team than Denver. In the majority of cases talent wins out. How many games did LSU win with Les. I’m sure on many occasions he wasn’t the better coach just better at eating the grass. To someone else point in the thread jimmy and Spo will make them earn it but it’s theirs to lose. You can only take jimmy and bunch of guys not even drafted so far no matter good the coaching is. I may have to totally eat my words but that’s the way I see series going, Denver in 6.

If Spo wins this series without Jokic getting hurt I truly think he is the best NBA coach of all time. Pop and Phil Jackson are great, but they could not win a championship with this team, I don’t think.

People said Milwaukee and Boston were better teams too. Miami can legitimately use the line of being disrespected.

An NBA 8 seed will be disrespected by virtue of them being a huge long shot.

Before this season, I think only about 3-4 8 seeds ever beat a 1 seed and none of them ever made it to the conference finals. The Heat are breaking ground and doing this with a team which is generally the same one they had last year as a 1 seed.

Spo and Jimmy are getting a huge boost come Wednesday night.

The NY Knicks in 1999 were an 8th seed that made it to the NBA finals, I’m pretty sure.

Was that the lockout season?

I think you're right that they were the 8th seed when they lost to the Spurs, but if it was the lockout season that might have had an effect on where teams finished in the final regular season standings.

Miami is already deep as hell if Herro can come off the bench and hit some big shots too it can only help. Caleb Martin hasn't gotten going yet either.

Denver has the better top 2 players but Miami hands down has the better coach and is deeper. They have a ton of guys that can get you 15 any given night.

Spoelstra > every other coach in the NBA. That's not a big knock on Malone.

I was gonna say…Spo is the best coach in the nba, I didn’t think it was news that he’s a better coach than Malone.

Herro is easily the most versatile and most talented scorer Miami has. When he is on, the Heat are extremely difficult to beat.
