These new MLB rules have Made Baseball Great Again!!!!!

I cannot believe that I actually sat down and watched an entire baseball game from start to finish this evening. The Braves/Cardinals game was 2:36 minutes.
In the past, it was hard for me to watch an entire ball game (except during post season) because the games took 3-3-1/2 hours.
These new rules have sped the game up and has made watching games tolerable again.
Sure, it kind of sucks that it’s not conventional but it was a much needed change for fans like me.
Also, I just moved to Atlanta so I could never watch the Braves play where I lived (only had access to Tampa Bay or Miami) before so that might be part of the reason why I am enjoying baseball more than season then years past.

I love all the new rules
A weekday game can be watched in 2 and a half hours
Now I don't gave to set aside an entire night to get through a game

just got back from the stl-atl game
left after 8th, and still got home at a nice time. no more of the 3 1/2 hour garbage.
let alone the 4 - 4 1/2 hour AL shite shows.
east coasters absolutely hated those 4 hour shite shows, especially on work nights. 7-11 game, 45minute train ride, ur in bed by 1230???? that gets old quick

I’m a huge fan of the changes. Took my son to the stros game Friday night and didn’t have to deal with getting home after midnight.

Banning the shift was stupid. These guys are pros. Learn to go opposite field, or learn to push a bunt.

The entire analytics boon has been a massive advantage for pitchers. Banning the shift finally gives something back to the hitters.

Amen, brother.

So far from what I have gathered
The batter gets :30 from last play to get set up for first pitch
Then, the pitcher gets :20 between pitches with a :20 timer (similar to say a shot clock in basketball)
Only 2 pick off attempts per base runner
Here’s the thing.. I actually enjoyed watching college softball games over MLB because those softball games were so fast and full of energy. These new MLB rules kind of remind me of watching a college softball game in the speed of the game

I love it. Last year I'd never make it to the end of games that started at 7. Now I'll probably be able to make most of them.
I can tell you from what the minor leaguers say, after the first few weeks adjustment period nearly all the players will be down with it.

Eh. Hard to go oppo when they shift and throw inside with 98+ mph. It was kinda chicken shite IMO

I read an article somewhere saying that most of the players actually love the new rules because it means earlier nights for east coast teams

I'm loving the new rules.
We finally have a sense of pace back to the game.

That’s what people said 10 years ago, yet they still didn’t learn to hit opposite field nor tried bunting enough. MLB proved over recent years that the shift needed to be banned to save the sport.

On Ian Happs podcast he does it with two former minor league teammates who are still in the minors.
They pitched and griped about it at first (the pitch clock) but about a month later after they had gotten adjusted and used to it, they said they LOVED it and told Happ the same would happen for him - that all the players loved it once they adjusted. They want shorter games just as much as the fans if not more.

Try a Savannah Banana game sometime

I don't like the banning of the shift, but I can get over that.
I really hate the pitch clock and the limited throws to 1st. Baseball is a game of timing, and trying to throw that timing off for the pitcher or hitter is all part of the game.
I'm sure in time, I wont even notice it, but striking a guy out without throwing a pitch is BS.

Old people hate it because it's too fast paced now. They'll all have to go back to watching women's basketball again.
