Underrated, yet, critical moments in LSU sports history

What say you? We know of the dramatic highlighted moments, but what are some "hidden gems?"
Just a couple I can think of are:
1) 2000 Davey to Royal in OT to help beat No. 11 Tennessee
2) Davey to Clayton to win at UK on the game winning drive with seconds left late in 2001 to allow LSU a shot to win the SEC West.
LINK
3) Stingley's INT on 3rd and 1 against UF this year...while we don't know if UF would have scored on the drive without the pick, ANYTHING can happen if it's 35-35 with 4:00 left.
And to avoid too many tangents, let's just do plays LSU made and avoid going into things like PIT beating WV in 2007.

Dinardo hiring and not firing Lou Tepper.
If Dinardo did not fire Tepper, we would have never hired Nick Saban.

Good call. 3rd and 10 play. Biggest play of the year imho.

Grant Delpit running down the Auburn back (DJ Williams) and holding them to 3 on that drive. Going down 17-10 on the first defensive play on the half would have been demoralizing.
All the onside kick recoveries in one score games this year (Texas, Auburn, Bama).

1) At the time, signing Joe Burrow. I don't think anyone envisioned 2019 at the time.
2) Hiring Joe Brady.
3) Hiring Chavis. Tarnished reputation because of how left but he was a stabilizing force on the staff from '09-'14.

The Texas and Alabama onside kicks, also what if the Yeldon’s fumble was picked up and returned in 2014?
This one isn’t for us but I think the biggest what if is in 2015 if Arkansas hadn’t beaten Ole miss on a lateral, would’ve kept Alabama out of the playoff and a nat’l champ

The touchdown pass to Demetrirus Byrd in the 2007 Auburn game. Miles looked like a genius but what would have happened had the clock run out?

2001 SEC CG victory over potential NC title game participant Tennessee.
Huge upset, some dude named Mauck was forced into action and came in and saved the game for us. He would go on to lead the Tigers to a national championship 2 short years later.

There would have been about three seconds left and we would have attempted the FG.

But say it was batted in the air or snapped a second later, man how that would change history

Huh? If the clock had run out we would’ve had 3 seconds left?

The look on Miles's face when he looked up at the clock and saw 1 second belied the post game narrative that "we had it all the way". He did not realize they cut it so close no matter what he says. The ball gets batted in the air and the games over, they lollygagged too much at the end there.

The 2016 Auburn game ending. The end of the Miles era.

I think Matt Mauck hurting just foot was actually a blessing in disguise. Because of that he had to learn how to be a better quarterback, reading defenses, going through progressions, etc.

Mo Claiborne kickoff return for a TD at West Virginia. WV had alot of momentum and the crowd was going nuts and Mo just put a dagger through their hearts with the return.
