There's a very high chance that SE remains our OC next year...

I can not find many examples at all where coordinator is fired after a 2-3 loss season.
We did it after 2010. OU fired their DC this year, but there may have been other circumstances to that.
Either way, we should support SE if he's here another year. Let's hope that O brings in some assistants to help scheme. Maybe a coOC. There's nothing wrong with bringing in some help.
So if SE is here next year, let's hope he has a great year and rides off into the sunset.
O is definitely not going anywhere. And he shouldn't be. He's bringing in 5 star LA players left and right. We have a great class developing. We will more than likely finish top 5 in recruiting with a huge lock down on LA kids. This is a good thing. On the field coaching could be the worst in the country and no long term damage will be done to the program if we continue to recruit at a high level in LA. We can be happy about the fact that this is happening. Regardless of everything else.
We can have the best of both worlds people. Despite what is said to the media, the offensive struggles are apparent. Let's see what he does to help fix it. The recruiting part is being taken care of. We have to wait until the offseason to see what coaching additions/subtractions we bring in on offense. So let's just relax and see what happens. Geaux Tigers!

I think he will want to step down and just coach TE's. I am sure he hears the fans criticism and would rather not subject himself/family to it anymore. I think he is doing as good as he can with how the line has played but would like to see this happen....and have no hard feelings.

If he's doing the best he can then why do you want him to step aside?

Here is a stat that tells us who we are...."you are what your record is"....bill parcells says
ok
we're 104th in total offense
Translation? we are winning in spite of this offensive struggles
Another stat
We're averaging 3.3 pts per game the last 3 meetings against Alabama, two of those games on our home field, 0 points scored. ZERO points....Heck I paid 2 grand to see this years Zero performance
I am impatient....it's been since Mettenberger the offense was fun to watch.
Burrow can play, the scheme should be different

I’m sure I’ll get crucified for this but I believe our OL has been the problem.
Not the players specially but.... attrition, suspension and injury have just killed out cohesiveness and experience on the OL
Fl our left side got blown up all game and that’s why we lost
I hate bama but their DL just lived in the backfield
I think we shore up the OL and it will be much much better

I really think its up to Ensminger. He will tell Orgeron whether he wants to return as OC. Orgeron isn't going to demote him much less fire him for the reason you gave (record) and that's Orgeron's boy. He feels like he owes him and maybe he does?
99 out of 100 coordinators would obviously say I'm staying (and getting paid) given that blank check option. The 1 chance is that Ensminger who its not a cliché to say "loves LSU" and by all indication was a reluctant soldier in taking the job steps aside for the good of his beloved LSU.

I think he is a good man and doesn't deserve the hate from our fans...some of our fans are so clueless about the game of football they just blame everything on coaches.

Downvoted because you have no idea what's going to happen with E. No one does unless you're CEO.

He may very well step aside. And I'm not saying that programs have never made a change after a 2-3 loss season. But it really does not happen much.
I really do want a new OC. Everyone knows that. But if we don't get a new one, I want whoever is on the offensive staff to have the best opportunity to succeed. And I want them to succeed.

I'm not saying that a change does not need to be made. I'm simply saying that changes do not happen often. If you can find any, show us. I can't.
We did it, but Crowton had been here for a few years.
OU did it, but there may have been other circumstances.

we have lots of ignorant fans that probably never played the game. Anyone that knows football will say it all starts up front...now here comes all the dumbasses saying we should run this scheme or this...no scheme looks good with bad play up front.

It should when it's obvious the reason your team has 2-4 losses (let's be real, we could lose to aggy and our bowl opponent still) it soley because of an offense.
Does anyone here really think an elite coach who sweats every minute detail of a program to get a championship level team would not make a change after one year of this shite show offense? This offense is a shite show even by LSU standards. That's saying something...

quote:Yep. Here's another example. We've done it twice, but I can't find any other times. Cam was brought in as an upgrade. Maybe O does that, too. I'm just simply saying that it doesn't happen often.
we did it after 2012 too.

He's not going to do this. He is making $800k he isn't going to willingly cut his salary in half. O will need to demote him, or fire him. Since E is the guy O wanted all along, E isn't going anywhere.

Very true but I hope not.
Let's get this man here

So you're saying O is a top 10 coach since the Tigers are ranked 7th?
Perhaps context matters.

agreed
I would love for him to stay (if I knew the offense would be successful) and redeem himself. I truly believe with a more cohesive line SE or the nest OC will look good.

LSU did it just last year after going 9-3 (yes, the bowl game was LSU's 4th loss. But the decision to fire Canada was clearly made BEFORE that game)

No offense, but don't you think that if you need an assistant to help your OC scheme then you might have a problem with your OC in the first place. I mean shite, LSU already has a co-WR coach because the first guy they hired for that position (Joseph) can't coach. Is our offensive coaching staff going to be 8 deep: Co-OC's; Co-WR coaches; Co-RB coaches; Co-OL coaches?
Like any LSU fan, I want SE to succeed. But the numbers right now seem to indicate that's unlikely. 4 quarters against a team without scoring sometimes happens. 8 quarters against that same program looks more like a trend.
