2011 Tigers offense must have been great.

Today someone gave me a signed copy, by Les Miles of the 2011 game by game rundown and even though I didn't do the math we must have average over 40 points per game. Wow!

JJ was the QB; we had a great defense that scored a lot of touchdowns.

WHen the defense and special teams weren't scoring TDs, the offense was scoring because the defense and special teams left them with such a short field

Seems like the defense scored a good bit that season.

The defense & special teams were great. The offense was a typical Miles unproductive vanilla offense, which benefited from great field position all season.

Wasn't the best from a Miles team, but was better than some of the offenses Saban and Jimbo put on the field.

our ST and D scored a ton that year lus helped O get great field position AT TIMES.

The naivety of your post is so bad you have to be trolling. Incredible defense forceda ton of turnovers and incredible special teams gave LSU short fields and pinned teams back deep. LSU did have a great running game which controlled time of possession and wore every team down in the 2nd half. 2011 LSU is the most physically fit team LSU's ever had. And a lot of that has to do with their offseason conditioning program to get ready for the Oregon game.

Our defense was so good, opponent's offenses weren't on the field much, but their defenses were a lot.
They'd hang with us in the first half, but come the 3rd quarter, their defenses were so tired, it'd quickly turn into a blowout.
Our long methodical drives were like body blows in the first half. In the 2nd half, normal quick toss plays would go 50 yards.
Then when the opponent was behind, and started pressing, they became predictable, then the defense would really feast until it was out of hand.

Not for the first 8 games

JLee lead perhaps the best Offense we have seen so far in TigerTown that year. JJ was Les' favored son in the end though.

Gee dude. You need to read the Rant more often.
Les Miles teams never scored on offense. Any scores were totally the result of defensive play, special team excellence and opponent miscues. Those offenses never had long time consuming drives, physically and mentally crushing extensive possessions that sucked the spirit and energy out of opponents.

outside of the Bama games (and the first half of UGA), it was actually a pretty efficient and effective offense. I thought Les called off the dogs a few times (see Ole Miss), or we could've put 70 on a few teams.

Our average starting field position was between the 45's, depending on the game. Score on defense, score on special teams and give the offense a short field to work with? It was a Les Miles masterpiece.

it just kills you that jimbo had record setting offense in 2001 and 2003 huh? was pretty good in 2006 also You think miles was a better offensive coach than jimbo?

If I remember correctly J Lee had the highest QB efficiency rating in the SEC that year.

that was hardly the best offense we have ever had. wake up man.
Lee did well first 8 games especially efficiency wise.

Offense was not our strong point that season. Great defense and exceptional special teams (Badger) were the reasons that we had an incredible regular season that year.
I don't think that is debatable.

You could say the offense was very opportunistic on what the ST and D gave them. I remember all those shots we took from midfield. Lee to randle deep for TD's. all a product of great field position and taking our shots.
