have to agree minus Hodson because he'll certainly be unseated after LF7 wins a Heisman and natty

LF is breaking Faulk's record this season, so...

Hodson over Tommy Casanova??? How does one leave off the only 3-time All American in LSU history?

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Tommy Hodson is great and had arguably one of THE greatest moments in Tiger History but there's definitely people ahead of him in terms of being top 4.

I would have Jim Taylor on there instead of Hodson though Hodson is an all-time great.

I have no problem with Miles. He has won a national championship and in more major bowl games than any other LSU coach.

If you're over 50
Y.A. Tittle
Billy Cannon
Jerry Stovall
Tommy Casanova

And if you include coaches it's Cholly Mac. No national championships but the man loved LSU.

Franklin Pierce doesn't appear on Mount Rushmore.

well I love LSU too, put me up there

and I love Cholly Mac and respect the man as much as anyone on here, doesn't get enough credit for what he did during his time here but....

Miles is the only coach who should be considered

No offense to Cholly, but he won 1 SEC Title in 18 years. There is no logical reason to put him above Miles other than most overall wins (which Miles will soon break).

quote:

In addition to owning the longest tenure in LSU football coaching history (18 seasons), McClendon holds the program records for most wins (137, including two forfeits to LSU), most losses (59), most bowl appearances (13 in 18 years), most bowl wins (7, tied with Les Miles), and most bowl losses (6).

Miles won't break the 18 years tenure record but he will likely break most wins, most bowl appearances, most bowl wins & losses.

I am starting to see a consensus Top 10 here (players only):

Mathieu
Cannon
Casanova
Peterson
Taylor
Jones
Hodson
Faulk
Tittle
Stovall

I like Reed as good as Peterson and Dorsey gets thrown around a lot. Faneca deserves to be on there too.

Casanova over Hodson and after next year Fournette will be over Faulk.
