What was the weak link on the 2003 National Championship team?

If it was a National Championship team... then there isn't a weak link. Sounds like a stupid argument.

Jimbo's offense was super unimaginative (shocker, I know) but in his defense, Mauck couldn't really push the ball downfield.

The defense was so dominant, the offense had to do "just enough". It was obviously a different era of CFB.

They player smothering defense and ran the ball well, especially in the second half of the season with Justin Vincent. They were very limited in the passing game.

Probably this. Remember how frustrating it was on 3rd and anything longer than 10 Jimbo would dial up a draw to the RB. Different era like you said, but frustrating. We had the talent to go for it.

Matt Mauck or the Linebackers. Turner and Vaughn were just ok. I can’t even recall who the third LB was. Jeremy Lawrence? Adrian Mays? Seemed like Mays never saw the field, but I always wanted to see him more.

Eric Alexander was a converted safety and had a nice NFL career
