I know some of you gave up on CMM, but Woody doesn’t miss with his hires. The evidence speaks for itself.

10+ 4-stars and a 5-star visiting this weekend. “tigersham” has a whole post about it on the recruiting board.

Hopefully our fans show them the LSU experience.

Here is the list of men’s basketball coaches that Woody has hired that have brought that school to the NCAA tournament under his administration.

….

NONE.

He simply has a blind spot when it comes to men’s basketball. Not sure if it is lack of interest or just arrogance, but he has never hired a basketball coach that had any success.

He extended Lorenzo Romar at Washington. Who crashed under Woody’s administration at UW. He inherited Wade who made the NCAA tournament under Woody’s administration, of course, he promptly fired him the first chance he got.

He fired one of the best young coaches in basketball, who will absolutely thrive in the NIL / transfer portal era. He did this for personal reasons and used the NCAA investigation as an excuse. LSU’s firing of Wade and hiring MM was far worse than the sanction we would ever get from the IARP.

Unless you love Science Fiction novels, the reality is that men's LSU Basketball is missing in action (MIA). Until any signs appear, men's LSU Basketball will reside in the hopes and dreams of those who have been hallucinating about the apparent perception of something not present.

When someone eliminates the "Fiction" from the "Science," maybe the facts will be reported. No theories. Proof of concrete evidence is required.

I would, but I got a full compliance email before the season started. If a recruit or his parents talks to me, I’m suppose to just ignore them and walk away….. LOL

I hear you loud and clear. His decision making has been HORRIBLE in regards to men's basketball wherever he's been. Buzz is showing some life in wacko land, but he completely screwed the pooch in regards to how he handled the Wade situation. Administrations WITH BALLS tell the NCAA to go play with themselves these days.

That being said, he grew up the same time I did as a huge fan of LSU sports. He was around when LSU basketball was every bit as popular as football was, and you could argue during a few stretches, it was MORE popular than football. So I find it hard to believe he has no care for the men's program.

Big difference between visit and commit. We shall see how that turns out!

There should be improvement this year over last but the real test will be the recruiting class he assembles now that the punishment for the allegations is no longer hanging over the program.

If he can’t get a good recruiting class now then his time at LSU will be limited.

BS to say he fired him for personal reasons. I wish Wade was still here, but his carelessness got him fired! I agree that we would be thriving if he were still here, but time to let it go.

Will Wade was disliked by many people in the athletic department not just Woodward. It’s ok to be that guy but the moment you give those people an out to get rid of you they are going to take advantage.

Saying woody doesn’t miss on hires is way off. Jay was a great hire and has proved it, Kim was an easy hire but he did a good job making it. BK is up in the air.

Jimbo was a clear miss, he also has never hired a basketball coach anywhere that has been worth two fricks.

He was certainly wanted and had Chris Beard not been on the market, he would be coaching at Ole Miss right now.

In the next 24 months, he will be one of the biggest names on the P5 market. His track record really speaks for itself. He's won and he's won consistently. Outside of his time at UT-C, he's been in the NCAA tournament 6 of 7 years as a Div. I head coach. All accomplished before he turned 40.

Haha. I guess if you count McNese, one of the most irrelevant basketball ball schools in America

And maybe he will be? But right now, Scott Woodward isn’t the only AD that thinks he is not suitable for big time basketball right now. Or high mid major. Or just regular mid major. The right decision was made

Would be a massive true except that he has missed with his basketball hire here so far.

It is okay not to sniff Woody's arse saying all his hires don't miss. Did you miss the basketball team last year?
