Heard at RT, Emery Jones at RG and Martinez and C with Dellinger and Campbell of the left. I know Kelly likes Turner because he’s a good communicator on the line but he gets driven back far too often for me. He came in as a 245 lb undersized C from IMG Academy that took him all these years to be playing around 290 where he’s at now but he’s just not strong enough from what I’ve seen. Martinez has the size and strength that could play well with 2 really good guards in Dellinger and Jones and he’s played well when given chances last year.

I believe that but I don’t think it will be this year. Not when Kelly has 2 seniors with SEC experience ahead of him. Next year I think it’s all his but that Cryer kid is going to give him a run for his money when he gets to LSU.

Well as long as you get what you want, coaches be damned.

Pretty sure Martinez is the 3rd string center now.

Agree.

Martinez is now 330 lbs. & should not get pushed around.

Z is listed at 340 lbs., lots of size for an OT.

Heard is a road grader in run blocking. When he comes in you see a noticeable increase in productivity in the running game. He's sorta like Bradford was only Heard is a freshman which is scary to think about.

BK has already said Frazier is going to start but Heard will be in rotation with the 1s.

Word in the off season was Heard needed some grooming and wasn't a plug and play starter out of the gate like Campbell and Jones as freshmen. It's likely the right decision to bring him along and build his him up while not destroying Fraziers confidence.

With a year or 2 of s&c he'll lean out and be stronger and faster at 315-320 and e an all american.

Campbell and Jones kind of had to play out of necessity last year and if Heard would have been on the team last year he probably is a starter also.

Campbell, Delly, Martinez, Jones, Heard

By midseason LSUs OL will change.E.Jones and Lance Heard
will be on 1 side together.BK is not going to make the
move until he feels LH is ready mentally ,physically
ready. He wont put that kind of pressure on a FRESHMAN
that soon.Emory Jones didn`t start right away.

I agree. Martinez has played well whenever they ran him out there these past 2 years. He’s so much stronger at the point of attack than Turner and that’s big when you’re trying to move 330 lb nose tackles so you can run it up the middle which we haven’t done well so far against FSU. Grambling doesn’t count. Delly and Campbell have played fantastic but the right side is a liability. Frazier is a great 6th OL type guy but he’s not even average as an SEC starter. We are playing Emery Jones out of position also, he’s a guard in the NFL and he even knows it and is fine with moving inside to get Heard on the field. At least you know with those 5 guys there should be no reason why you can’t run the football.

Jones started the 2nd game last year for us if Kim not mistaken. Cam Wire was terrible against FSU and Kelly made the change quickly. Frazier is better than Wire but he’s not better than Heard or Jones and Turner is not better than Marlon Martinez from what I can see.

We ran almost exclusively when he was in. I suspect the reason he isn’t starting is that he isn’t prepared to pass block.

Martinez should absolutely be starting at C and if not at C because Heard isn't ready for RT, then put Martinez at RG. Martinez is a lot stronger at the point of attach then Frazier. Martinez will have a better and longer career in the NFL then Frazier will. He can play every position along the OL and NFL teams love that!

I’m not sure I’d want him on the outskirts de but he can without a doubt play all 3 interior positions seamlessly. I do think Martinez played and maybe even started one game at LT. I can’t recall who we played but it was a few years ago. It feels like he’s been here forever. I knew he was 100% gone after spring when he wasn’t in the penciled in starting 5 but credit to him for sticking it out. Not many do these days because he can not only start but be some college’s best OL if he were to drop down a level to a group of 5 school. He’d be a starter for a good majority of power 5 programs.
