There’s no room for error. One loss and you’re on the playoff bubble. Need to win out including the SEC championship game. Two losses and you’re out, hoping for a nice bowl. Baseball had 17 losses including 2 SEC series losses and still won the natty. That’s why football probably needs more than a 12 team playoff. Every other sport, college and pro including the NFL has a shite ton more playoff teams.

I agree with some of this, but more than 12? That’s insane and way too much. Hell I think 12 is overkill as is, thought 8 was perfect, but won’t complain about the 12.

Your team should be fired up to play Florida St, a team that beat you the year before and it’s a prime time top 10 matchup. Florida St played with enthusiasm and even though we were up 17-14 and should have been more, they played with juice and we were flat. That is on the head coach for not having this team hyped up to play this game.

Not an excuse because it’s the reality of the world these days, but I do wonder how much more difficult it is for these coaches around college football that have gone portal heavy to really “know” their team. Kelly even mentioned at SEC media days that you won’t really know about the secondary the lights come on for real.

Do you seriously think a 2 loss SEC champ that lost to a top ten OOC opponent would be left out?

Then he needs to hire better recruiters on staff and spend more money on NIL to get better secondary in the signing class.

I mean, the DB class is pretty nasty this year. They got some really good guys last year too but they’re puppies. It’s just gonna take some time to rebuild that room.

I’m in favor of a 12 team playoff but this here is not the best comparison

Specifically towards LSU and the NCAA format it’s not the loss, it’s the manor in which you lose. LSU completely blew the game in second half but more importantly it was the coaches scheme, game plan, and lack of adjustments that lost the game.

The roster is roughly there and I think most would agree that LSU could have boat raced FSU to the end win or lose. LSU wasn’t prepared and it’s glaring towards coaching. That’s why the fanbase is triggered.

To your point, yes we could still have a great season but the doubt, unless proven otherwise, is ever present until this coaching staff proves otherwise. This extends the angst of a fanbase throughout the season. One could argue the commitment for college football transcends all sports and with that comes a lot of money and passion towards an athletic program. Fans have a right to be triggered.

Not likely, but it depends on how the season plays out as a whole. Let's say FSU goes undefeated or loses one, Big10 champ, USC undefeated or one loss, a one loss or undefeated Big12 champ. In that scenario, yes, a two loss LSU SEC champ could be left out.

Actually it’s a pathetic reaction to an event that changes nothing in one’s life . My advise is to look deeper and use the anger, fear and loathing to motivate yourself to achieve more in life.

The Head Coach is the one who has to fire them up?
Like, they can’t get fired up on their own or amongst themselves?

Some people see this as a reason to expand the playoffs. I see it as evidence that college football is unique and awesome.

That’s exactly why SOS should be a chief factor in rankings and making the playoffs. Much easier to make it with a lame schedule.
