Another state, New Jersey, joined Ohio in suspending all betting on Alabama baseball games.

Everyone is tight-lipped about what caused the suspensions.

I lived in New Orleans and attended Tulane men's basketball games during the point-shaving scandals that shut down that program.

I'll bet lots of Alabama fans are holding their breath.

Did they let Skenes strike them out on purpose?

Pinckney was juiced

Seemed like he couldn't do wrong with his bat and even lazy swings were HRs.

The problem with this is that the team that was heavily favored won the game. Yeah some insider info about their starter being scratched last minute might have leaked to some people so more money might have come in on LSU than what normally would have.

But I don't think this is a situation where any Bama players were trying to lose the game on purpose. Especially not to a team that's better than them and they were supposed to lose to anyway.

It was 8-2 until Alabama scored 4 in the 9th with 2 outs.

What was the unusual betting? Live Alabama bets to win when down 8-1? Still lost.

Live RL bets?

I thought betting was halted during the game?

Their pitcher spiked before the game right? Could be that. I don't know.

Maybe someone told them before anyone knew and they saw a huge influx of bets with insiders.

A big bet was put on LSU right before the starting pitcher was scratched.

This is the only thing that makes any sense with this. But even then did that really significantly change LSU's chances of winning?

To me this would have been a much bigger deal had it been the other way around. Heavy underdog Bama gets large bets places on them then all of a sudden Skenes gets scratched and Bama wins.

Betting on baseball, is all about betting the PITCHER, with Skenes the line most times is usually at least -200, run total lower than usual total because of him. Maybe there was a lot of money on the Over and the last hour pitching change affected the Total Runs Over instead of a low Total line for the game. Example Total with schedule Pitchers Over 8 already bet, Alabama changes Pitcher total shoots up to Over 11, but an unusual amount bet on Over 8, from Bama side, because Sharks already knew of change before Line Makers, Vegas knows when things look sketchy & this must have been a Huge loss All on the same side.

I read an article yesterday, I believe, that stated the trigger was a couple of high-dollar bets that came in from somewhere in Ohio. The flag was also sent to Louisiana, but Louisiana chose not to suspend bets because it was very unlikely, given the circumstances and the manner of the bets, that LSU or anyone associated with us were involved. That tells me the suspicion was on Bama’s end.

It wouldn’t make much sense for a small bet, with LSU being -240 or whatever it was. But if it’s a very large sum, i suppose it could….or if it’s a parlay bet. I don’t know enough about gambling to make sense of it, though.

The whole thing seems to stem from more of lack of understanding or knowledge of college baseball on the part of the Ohio casinos rather than any actual shady dealings.

It’s all regarding high % and amount of wagers coming in before it was publicly announced that the starter for bama was scratched.

Can’t imagine before last Friday there was much volume of bets in Ohio placed on Alabama college baseball games so it was probably very obvious to the books that someone(s) got an insider tip.

The suspicious bets came during the game so it doesn’t appear it was affiliated with the pitching change before the game.

Wasn't he being sued by a former player? That may have something to do with it.

I actually think he was fired for the lawsuit with the former player, i doubt it has to do with the betting thing
