Mulkey's Baylor teams & nat'l anthem

While at Baylor, Kim Mulkey coached the Bears in 3 national championship games (and won them all). She and her teams were on the court during the singing of the national anthem for all 3 games. Why not this year with LSU? Is this now the message of the LSU brand she so glowingly lauds? No excuse is good enough. I don't believe for a minute that no one let her know that the pregame ceremonial singing of the NA was about to take place. And, I especially don't believe she needed the extra 5 minutes to talk to her team. Mulkey needs to publicly apologize to whatever remnant of the LSU fanbase that's still patriotic.

Judging by what I've heard from Reese in the last couple days, I'm guessing there's a kneeler or 2 on the team and Mulkey probably didn't want that on camera.

Man, who cares? I don’t care about the patriotism of athletes and performers—either way. I’m in the military (which doesn’t mean my opinion on the subject matters any more than yours, but tells you where I’m coming from) and I couldn’t care less whether teams choose to be there or not. I’m not sure why it’s necessary to marry patriotism with sports.
Would I stand? Yes and it means something to me every time. Do I care if others do? Not in the least.
