This is Kelly’s response to reporters regarding his process for evaluating his coaches and special teams. Is this clear to everyone?

quote:

Do we need to spend more time individually on things? Do we need to demand more from the individuals that are actually out there?

There isn't a whole group of other guys that are ready to play.

I mean, we're playing front line players.

TTT - But there are a whole group of other guys who are ready to coach special teams better, what’s your process for evaluating current staff?

IDK but maybe with the limited talent on the roster its hard to field 22 players let alone special teams as well.

Did you expect him to say he was thinking about firing the special teams coach?

No, but I expect a clearer answer than the one he gave as to how he evaluates his coaches. Did you see one?

OP said we had an “elite” staff two weeks ago and now has been free fall melting since Saturday while binge posting advocate articles

I didn’t imply the entire staff, just the defensive side. Get your facts straight, baw!

I think he gave a pretty clear answer.

It is worth noting that they only have, by my count, 70-72 scholarship players. So they are still pretty low on count. They could essentially yield a whole other unit and then some of they were to fill out all the scholarship slots. But because of that, like Polian stated, there are starters that would typically play special teams that just can’t, because they are so low on numbers.

Coaches don’t give clear answers. At least not in press conferences.

I still support the guy but have to admit that I am not liking what I am hearing out of him.

Woody needs to have a chat.

Lol what is woody going to chat about? It’s year 1 of a 10 year fully locked in deal. Scott will sit in the corner for at least 5 years. He can’t do anything and BK has complete control of the program.

Plus Woody made suggestions like hire Bo before, he might be worse at making suggestions to coaches than he is at giving good contracts.

What he’s saying is the truth and exactly what most of the Rant has been saying for quite some time, and that is this team was absolutely gutted by the time O left. In fact, the entire program minus one single assistant coach was replaced. We don’t have anymore good ole baws whose daddy knows somebody anymore. We have a real coaching staff with ability to coach and the knowledge to win but they are leading a team mostly new to LSU. Literally everything and everyone from top to bottom is new. Give it time you stupid mofos. We’re not going to dominate immediately. 2023 will be better and 2024 will be very, very good. This is a true rebuilding process and we haven’t had that in decades.

I’ll buy a real head coach, but a real special teams coach? Got some water front property on Lake Mead in Nevada I want to sell you.

He saying I put a 1st string WRs out there to field kicks rather than some innocuous walk-ons. I can’t help it if they try to catch the kicks like they are blindfolded

There is obviously some damage control going on inside the football program. The apologist are out in full force as the coach dances around the poorly prepared team and game management issues. I don’t think Kelly should be fired but he has to make sure he is not wearing rose-colored glasses either. As a fan, I would like to know that Kelly demonstrates that the problems are not just on-field talent.

Holy shitte! This guy is so dumb he F’d up this saying. Lake Mead is actually body of water, you’re supposed to reference an area that doesn’t have water moron! Your jokes are as dumb as your sports takes.
