The SEC is a rock compared to the Big12's house of cards...

I didn't want any changes to begin with, but all this drama certainly makes me appreciate the SEC so much more.

We all may hate each other on GameDay, but we certainly feel like more of a family than these Big12 schools.

It's beyond me why anyone would want to continue in that conference. The writing is on the wall: even if it doesn't fail today, the failure of the Big12 is coming. It may be 3 years, it may be 5 years, but it's coming.

The SEC isn't going anywhere.

The SEC has been around for more than 75 years. The Big XII is just barely a teenager. Not comparable when you're talking about family ties or stability.

It depends on each school involved.

Texas probably sees this as buying time to get the Bevo network up and running before jumping ship.

Oklahoma appears to be in a co-dependent relationship with Texas.

Tech and Okie State are dependent on Texas and Oklahoma, so if they're told "Suck my dick!", each will say in reply "Want me to suck your balls too, daddy?"

Iowa State, Kansas, Mizzou, K-State, and Baylor are scared of being left out in the cold because they likely won't get an invite to the Pac Ten, or Big Ten. It's questionable whether Baylor or Iowa State would even get invites to the Mountain West or C-USA.

A&M is the one who has the most reason to bolt now, but they may have a deal in understanding with the SEC that they'll jump whenever the Big 12 dies of its own accord.

I agree. It's been totally entertaining watching all this, but I wasn't worried about any of our teams leaving at all.

If there's anything that's been made crystal clear through this whole thing is the Big XII is Texas and everyone else.

thats why its puzzling that aTm has been invited and they still cant decide....

nothing but great can come from joining the SEC..
nothing but bad will come from staying in that lame duck conference and following texas around.
if aTm stays, i guess its true that they will bend over and grab their ankles for texas. if you're scared, say you're scared.

this new deal - More money for UT, OU and A&m less money for the rest of the Big 12-2. This will just create more animosity and lower the value of the Big12. Baylor, TT, Iowa St.etc. all caving to accept lesser amounts of the pie is just silly. All other big conferences share the pie equally - the Big12 will not be look at in the same light going forward.

Agree but honestly I hope the Big 12 can survive and even thrive in some form for the sake of inter-regional competition. After all, the Big 12 has sent the last two NC opponents vs the SEC. Hopefully A&M bucking the PAC 16 wave has saved the day.

It surprised me that OU would just bend over to Texas and say, "Thank you sir. May I have another."

That's the perception that they are giving to the rest of the country. I have always been a fan of Oklahoma and them agreeing with Tejas just completely surprises me.

OU -> <- UT

I don't think OU understands they have as much power as they do... that or the Texas AD has pictures of teh OU board of reagents in an all male skinpile
