The one negative about TAMU...

I think rivalries are important. It takes the excitement and anticipation to the next level. LSU/Florida, UT/OU, Michigan/Ohio State, USC/Notre Dame...those are the games that live on.

LSU lost its chance at a true rival when Tulane decided to suck.

LSU vs. Tulane is a "Rivalry" but i could really give a frick less if we have the tigger rag or whatever the hell it is now. LSU vs. Florida is/has been a heated game for the past 7 or so years. Basically a rivalry.

not the type of rivalry the OP was talking about though. You could call any two teams with a stretch of good games a "rivalry" with that thinking, doesn't really make it one.

Yeah, Florida vs LSU is just a good game. Us old people consider Ole Miss as our rival game, especially in '69 when he cost usthe NC and we didn't even get to go to a bowl because the Sugar picked Ole Miss and the Cotton chose ND who didn't go bowling until they decided to that year.

Honestly, I think A&M is our natural rival. It would be great to start playing them again.
