Now that USC is marginalized, I guess the Longwhorns are the ogre, for lots of folks, not just the ones who got jobbed (willingly) in the Big Pansy conference.

Who would the Pac-11 now go over? Nevada, Utah, Colorado State and/or Fresno St?

Utah is the obvious choice now for Pac-11. Next would be Colorado St.

And aw geez, I'm sorry we ruined your marriage with aTm.

seriously? We're "public enemy #1" now because we didn't want to go to the Pac-10 or SEC? Fans don't like the Pac-10 and school admin. doesn' like the SEC. This was about all that could be done at this point... until things get interesting in 3 years or so..

Seriously, the rest of the country is laughing at Texas now. You've made a mockery of your conference (and it is "your" conference since apparently everyone else cowers in the corner).

You tried to split for the left coast for more $$$, but the Aggies called your bluff and made you back down. So then you bribe them & the Okies so you can keep your little fiefdom intact and continue to rape and pillage the rest of the Little Sisters of the Poor teams that you call your conference brethren.

Yeah, Texas is the bad guy in this soap opera.

Just to clarify, you were never invited to the SEC, and the way it appears your brass handled this whole situation, you will likely never be invited to the SEC.

When the SEC wants to get into Texas when the need arises after the Big10 and Pac10 begin expanding past 12 teams, we found our Texas suitor, and it's not UT.

Seriously? UT was salivating over the prospect of the PAC 10. Good grief. If not for the Aggies flirting with the SEC that's where UT would have gone.

I'll give you guys one thing, though. You're very good spin doctors with little regard for the truth or common sense.

no doubt they are the new bad guys...

They could care less whats good for the conference or whats good for the competition.

all they care about is power and $$.

when all the dust settles, UT has their money, but absolutely KILLED the conference and competition within.

as was mentioned earlier, they just became the yankees of college football.

I never saw USC as the "bad guy" of college football. I may have been out of the loop but I never saw USC pull a stunt like the one we just saw.

I have no respect for Texas anymore or the politicians who keep the Texas schools together. The Big 12 is now considerably weaker than it was just several months before.

I agree with your statement regarding pulling a stunt like this, but many in the SEC think of USC as the "bad guy" up until now because (1) they played in a crappy conference, always lost a game and still bragged how they were the best team in the nation (2) have national and media love from ESPN and everyone else (3) everyone knew they were dirty, but nothing would "stick" until now.

Let's not act so innocent. There's only one reason Texas turned down the PAC and SEC - none of the schools in these conferences would bend over and take it like they do in the BIG12. Equal revenue sharing doesn't fit in with their narcissistic business plan. We know the SEC wouldn't budge on this and the PAC wasn't willing to cut them a sweat-heart deal.

So go ahead Texas and claim to be hero of the day, I wouldn't expect anything less from a bunch of tyrants.

Texas was never offered an invite by the SEC.....nor will they EVER be offered into the SEC.

It's kinda funny actually...Texas is the laughing stock from coast to coast. I bet even USC is glad this blew up in Texas' face so that now they know what Austin is all about before hand...

...an Aggie sums it up:

quote:

damn, they're good. They go behind everyones back, look out for only them, get called out by the Ags, kick us in the nuts anyways, everyone pu**ies out and crawls back to them, they get more $$, they get their own network AND to top it all off, comes across (in the media) as "the team that saved the Big 12" hats off for a job well done.

You're public enemy #1 because your school is a bunch of vag looking to play in the weakest conference possible. ABSOLUTELY PITIFUL. SHAMEFUL.

Does this mean that Ohio State will fall down on the most hated list.

Well, at least for now.

Ohio st. was never public enemy #1, just the media that kept overhyping you. You guys were mostly viewed as victims of delusions created by an overzealous ESPN. Those arse-whippings must have been brutal on your end.
