LSU wants A&M but wants permanent game against Florida gone. If SEC wants to make West more difficult by adding a texas school, LSU wanted assurance that we would not be stuck with Fla every year (most talent laden team in the east on a year in year out basis) - makes it that much harder to compete for a national title.

Florida, South Carolina and Georgia blocked Fla St, Clemson and Ga Tech from joining SEC. Not sure about UK and Louisville.

i understand that they poll the members on how they want to vote and once the outcome is determined, they officially vote unanimous so that it looks more positive.

i've heard that SC was dissenting, but I don't know why. also, I thought the UTn President said he wanted things to stay the same.

frick that, I look forward to that game.

Fans need to stop worrying about playing hard teams.

To be the best you have to play the best.

yes there was a letter he sent to all the Big 12 board members asking for them to basically not sue the SEC if they take TAMU. I think he knew the answer before he sent it but Baylors, Kansas and few other lame duck schools in the league are threatening legal action which is why no announcement has been made and no announcement is forth coming. Looks like a political cluster fuk...

I think you are confused.

The only 9/8/2011 5pm deadline I've ever seen was in the letter that the Big XII sent to the SEC, signed by Dan Beebe, that the Big XII and its members agreed not to sue the SEC if A&M was publicly confirmed by that deadline.

It has since become college knowledge that Dan Beebe did this without actually having agreement from the Board of Directors to give that blanket statement covering all the member institutions.

The SEC did not set a deadline for A&M's invite, at least not in the press release announcing it.

but what relapse failed to mention was that it was a Slive stipulation for Dan Beebe to detail and relay. Several of the smaller schools have so far stopped or slowed the process.
