As one of the two remaining members of the Big 12-10 (Iowa State being the other) this is probably true. No one else will be around to collect the exit fees.
The conference will cease to exist, so there won't be any exit fees. This is the same reason Nebraska stalled paying their exit fees as much as possible until the recommitment to the Big 12 by OU, Texas, Ttech, A&M, and OSU, because if those teams had left simultaneously with Colorado and Nebraska, the conference would've been dissolved and nobody would owe anything.
They also were undergoing arbitration to lower the exit fees, which resulted in further delay of their exit.

He's serious. It's not about size it's about stature. You get a ticket to one of these conferences only because you are tied to OU.
Bingo. OSU better thank their lucky stars they are tied to OU or they'd be in the same boat as K-State, Baylor, Iowa State. If it wasn't for some stupid law Okie State would be in Conference USA along with TULSA!

KState is even more tied to Kansas than OSU is to OU.

how long before a public statement? End of the week?

Just wondering. Shouldn't they leave the Big 12 conference first before OU and OUlite talk to the PAC 12 or vote to join.
I thought that Texas A&M had to leave the conference first before applying to join the SEC.

Bad link? Deleted?
EDIT - NM, tweet was older than I thought, meaning I had to scroll down a bit and force it to load.

So much for the public hidden messages like T-Boone, Auburn & the Big East. We're down to the smokey, back rooms - UT & OU meet on a Sunday. Key word - Sunday.
Sure sounds like their is a little anxiety in the air.
Baylor gonna Sue UT, TT, OU,OSU & A&M? Come on! Have joked before, Christians vs Lions - bet on the Lions.
Looking like so

Looking like someone is about to pull the trigger. Adios Big 12

I dont get the geography issue this poses. 1200 to 2000 mile drive for most conference games, (aside from Colorado).
makes no sense really. The SEC and Big 10 are in their back yard.

The B1G won't take them, especially with OSU. The institution doesn't want the SEC. If they go, there is a good chance TX may follow with TT. A conference division with OSU, TX, TT, and CO is quite doable since they were all part of the Big 12 anyway.

youre saying they would have 3 4-team divisions?
a North, South, and East?
Messy... right now the Pac12 says they dont want to expand. I can see why.
