Obviously it matters enough that the game is going to continue.

But on the bright side, UF and LSU will have something to complain about together if they continue to play.

And people SURE as heck don't give a s### about Jort nation and you're 20 year history of relevance. BTW Roman Empire 101 Jort/tank top/gold chain wearing nation 28 in their last 3 meetings vs one another.

Couldn't even trump Auburn/LSU to be covered by CBS.

Pretty sure there have been years where the Iron Bowl wasn't on CBS. Guess that means it's only a rivalry sometimes.

If it means that much to UT/Bama...there's no problem as scheduling it as an OOC game if not played as an annual conference game.

Actually, I want Bama to remain in the West. I like playing them every year and we have one of the best rivalries in the conference today, history be damned

Put Mizzou in the west, both Mississippi schools in the east, and move UK or Vandy west. It would be screwy to have MS schools in the east and AL in the west, but it wouldn't effect the balance of power in the conference, and I doubt that it would add that much to the travel costs of the MS schools.

Or they'll continue to play each other in conference like always.

Fact is Missouri when they come will play in the East. Bama or Auburn isn't going anywhere. UT vs. Bama isn't going anywhere. History and tradition are a large part of what make this conference what it is.

You can make all the lists you want. If you think Slive or any other commish is going to end UT vs. Bama you are a dumbass. It isn't going to happen. Ever.... As long as football is played in the SEC UT and Bama will face off yearly. The game just means to much to the people at both of those schools.... And again those two schools made this freaking conference what it is today. Like it or not...

If they made this change the top 3 in the west would be at least as good as any top 3 in the east.

LSU and Arkansas are already top programs right now in the conference. I expect A&M to become even more successful with having the conference edge over Texas in recruiting.

Tex A&M will win a national championship before UTk wins a SEC west if Bama and Aubie move to the east.

Times change.

Yale has won more football national championships than UTk.

YALE. many many undefeated seasons. Yale was the big bulldog, back when Notre Dame first started winning the national championship.

The only way Ala and Aub move east is if the SEC keeps poaching teams from the west like UT or OU. Just imagine when we offered UT, TAMU, OU, and OSU last year and they actually accepted. Ala and Aub would be in the East and it would be balanced because of OU and UT in the West.

I read somewhere that UT was close to accepting a SEC offer back before 1992 when the SEC was expanding. But the SEC didnt want TAMU to tag along. If that is true, what a mistake.

The meltdown the year LSU drops 2 SEC games and Bama drops 1 SEC game (to LSU) plus 1 OOC game against Tennessee and goes on to represent the west over LSU would almost make such an asinine suggestion worthwhile. Almost.

That is probably true since we will not be playing in the SEC West....

We are down right now. No doubt. But I believe we will be back because history says as much and you can look at all the schools ranked in the top 10 all time. They have had ups and downs. All of them. Including us. We have been down before. Majors had horrible seasons when he arrived. It happens. It goes in cycles. Always has and it always will. Bama and LSU are on an up swing. We have been going down. It happens. It will cycle back the other way. Always does.... So crow while you can.

But either way UT vs. Bama is going to be played. It doesn't matter if we are down or if Bama is down. The game has always mattered in this conference. Some years alot more than others. It is a big part of the history of this leauge. Not even you could say otherwise. You can't turn your back on all that history for a few dollors. Make no sense to me and clearly it makes no sense to the people making the decisions..... So get over it....

You do realize that his list will allow your precious rivalry to go on, right? Every single year. No rivals would be lost in his scenario.

As for UT "making" southern football, your full of chit. Sewanne (sp?), Tulane, and Alabama all have better claim to that than UT. GFY, and your rivalry.

And yes, LSU has no rivals. We're unrivaled in athletics.

History is no indication of future performance. Yes, you will be good again, probably more so than not, but I don't think greatness is in your future like it can and will be for a FL and GA. I see you pretty much as SC is now; good team, but to compete for championships you need everybody else to be down.

The basic problem is that your base is too weak and the competitive landscape wrt recruiting has changed much over the last 10 or so years. The top schools have strong local talent bases that they only need to supplement with OOS talent. You are a school that needs much more OOS, yet you have no more to offer than anyone else these days. The job is just a lot more difficult for TN.

This post just shows your stupidity....

If you think the SEC is going to put 5 or the top 7 programs in the conference in the same division your an idiot.

As far as UT goes. Look at the records. Says it all. We are down now. But that will change like it always does....

Sure.... Nothing has changed. You think all of the sudden UT isn't going to be able to do what they have done for 100 years? We are down now because we had three coaches in three years and a ton of attrition. That is the reason. It isn't any other. You can come up with all the theories you want about kids not leaving their state or Tennessee having a weak base. But the facts are that has always been the case and we have always won for the most part. Nothing is new. We will be right back to where we have always been soon enough and that is competing for the conference. And most years history shows that is with Bama that is why the game means so much.... So again, Get over it….
