Listen man, I'm not trying to get in a pissing match with you because I honestly give the littlest most minuscule shite about what you think.
Contrary to your believe, before Saban, LSU blew dick. Y'all have had extreme success since 00' and I'm happy for y'all. But you need to remember that you weren't always a good team man.
You want LSU to reign free over Louisiana, I get it. But frick that, there's a reason I like tulane more. I could have easily followed the sheep and rooted for LSU. But the arrogance and stupidity that goes with LSU's fan base is something I need not be a part of.
Ps. Just because your kid can't hang at the school of continuing studies doesn't mean our academics are failing, or falling as you put.

My "kid" has a 3.8 GPA and it ain't in the "school of continuing studies."
Read any credible ranking system and Tulane academics ARE falling. Hell, your own people admit that--one of your leading alumni bitched and moaned recently that, at his Houston law firm, Tulane has been taken off their preferred list for hiring.
Since my kid is there, I am more worked up about that than Toolame's shitty athletics.

I love LSU more than the average fan on here, but we have some dumbass arrogant fans, way more than Tulane for sure. It comes with the territory of being a big school in a mostly rural state. Tulane's fans at least are mostly college-educated. We have some fans that can't put two sentences together, much less intelligently talk college football with anybody.
To say "there's no fanbase more arrogant and stupid than Toolame's" is ridiculous, especially coming from an LSU fan.

Texas and OU might travel in numbers close to that (and even that is highly questionable), but the rest of the Big XII is pretty weak in terms of traveling fans. I know New Orleans is a better draw than some of the other Big XII cities, but there's just no real tradition of traveling to road games in the Big XII.

LSU has at all times since about 1920 or so, been among the top 20 or so programs historically. Even at the end of our worst period ever, the 1990s, we were still in the top 15 or so all-time. LSU never "blew dick".

My neighbor is slowly turning me into a fan, BTW he's a really great guy that is in the top 5 on the athletic side, 2nd or 3rd behind Rick Dickson, and is very excited about things going on within the department. I'm an LSU fan, so defending Tulane to another LSU fan just felt a little strange.

I think whatever good happens to Tulane is good for New Orleans, so I'm all for it. TCU had shown the invaluable student recruiting asset that a good football team can be, and I hope Tulane takes note.
And to the person who had some convoluted idea that Tulane doing better will hurt the state because it hurts LSU, there's no way in hell that step 1 happens, much less step 2. If you're against tulane rising up and being competitive, you dont want what's best for the state because of an irrational dislike of tulane, and thats pretty sad.
