The question is...who will make up each one. Any thoughts on how they will look?

I like OSU, OU, Mizzou and TAMU to the SEC for their 16. Implodes the Big 12.

If there are four super conferences of sixteen each, what do y'all think of the idea of each conference creating four divisions and doing semi-final/division and championship games?

In the SEC they could have semi-final games in New Orleans, Nashville or Texas and then the SECCG in Atlanta. The other four super conferences would do likewise. Then there would be national semi-final and championship games.

I personally like the SEC the way it is, but if we are expanding, I hope we can get a playoff out of it.

4 team playoff with conference championship game winners. That's as far as it'll go, IMO. And, all the small schools will be wishing that they weren't crying all those years.

The 4 super-conferences will have a playoff system and the winner of that game will play Texas every year for the national championship. That is the only way DeLoss Dodds will allow for this setup to happen.

That is a good idea. Let the conferences de facto set up their own playoff system and then seed the BCS.

But the problem with 4 team divisions is with only three permanent opponents it would be tough to set up a fair regular season for everyone.

And if the conferences set up these early de-facto playoffs the SEC would keep the money and the economic impact from the games would contribute to cities in the SEC footprint.

Schedules would be tricky. Maybe have additional permanent opponents from the other divisions to keep traditional rivalries and add new ones. Also possibly expand to 9 conference games. Maybe something like three in-division opponents every year, two or three permanent out-of-division rivals and then rotate the remaining three or four conference games among the other members.

Admittedly one of the problems with the super conference idea is lack of cohesion of the conferences b/c there will be more teams that you don't play very often.

better yet, let texas have an automatic entry into the SEC playoff bracket and see how long it takes them to win another NC. let's see, the only team worth a damn in the big 12 was oklahoma and how many conference titles did y'all win?

Nebraska isn't worth a damn? And how many years in the big 12 did Texas beat OU?

Would be the absolute worst possible thing to ever happen to college football. It will absolutely destroy conference schedules and eliminate the non-conference schedule.

You CAN make schedules work with 14 team conferences. The SEC teams, for example, would simply replace 1 of their non-conference cupcakes with the new member of each division. Long time rivalries are preserved and only 1 non-conference game is lost.

For the record, I've never understand the magic of 4 conferences. Why does football have to get to the magical 4 conference level. Why not FIVE or CONFERENCES OF 14 team each with a 10 team national playoff with 5 automatic bids to conference champions and the other 5 (or 3 if it's an 8 team playoff) at large bids based off of BCS rankings? The four 16 team super conference format sucks from a scheduling standpoint.

Never thought I would see it in my lifetime, but I'm afraid I will. The fans lose. We'll play 10 conference games & 2 scrimmage games. Forget 1st week matchups like LSU/OR - GA/Boise. Once again, ESPN screws it up. UT & their Longhorn network partners can burn in hell.

Why wouldn't teams schedule fun nonconference games? It wouldn't hurt you anymore. The four playoff teams would just come from conference champions.

I would like to see 7 conference games and 4 non conference. Just play the other 7 teams in your division, 2 from former FBS teams, and 2 nonconference.

Exactly. If the superconferences are divided into 4's then play your 3 division opponents plus another division on a rotation basis. Then play 2 solid teams from other superconferences and 2 cup cakes.
