These two teams are not even the cream of their own crop. I love money as next as the next man but these two schools are not going to help the SEC be more dominant. Quantity doesn't mean you get Quality. I'm a Kentucky fan and realize that we aren't the best the SEC has to offer but at least we have basketball. What does Mizzou and Texas A&M give besides money?

Besides money, nothing else matters to the suits. Like it or not, money is everything. That's the way of the world, my friend.

You got it right DoUrden. They bring as much as Arkansas and USCe brought. But at least A&M opens up the kids in Texas a little more to us.

As an MU fan I could easily take offense to all these posters that say these kinds of things and type out many stats and all to try and prove you wrong.

But I'm going to choose to say just one thing. You all have the right to your opinion and and although I disagree with your opinions and believe you aren't giving Missouri enough credit it's OK. We're the new Kid on the block and it's going to be up to us on the field or court to earn your respect. We shall see what happens after the adjustment period that will be needed for Mizzou to get used to SEC style football.

I do hope in a few years we will all look back on this as it was a good thing for all concerned. Right now I'm just proud that the best conference in college football invited us to the party.

I couldn't care less. Therefore, you care more than I do.

I do know that both would be a step up over Kentucky in football and A&M would be a step up in track, baseball and softball over Kentucky. Not that familiar with Mizz. The only thing positive about Kentucky is basketball. I welcome the new members...

Don't let the vocal minority give you a bad impression of SEC fans. As far as expansion has gone, I consider Mizzou and aTm to be the two best gets anyone has gotten.

Mizzou and aTm are already as good or better in football than either MS school, UK, and Vandy.

Better than most in hoops and bring in a helluva lot bigger tv markets than most teams as well.

That's not to mention baseball and other sports of which I'm not familiar with enough to speak to.

Apparently both will be at the top of the conference with Vandy & UF in academics also.

So if expansion was inevitable, then the SEC could have done a lot worse, but not much, if any better. Nebraska is a better football program than either aTm or Mizzou and apparently on par academically, but they are a total shite sandwich is regards to tv markets and recruiting or other sports. So if the SEC had to expand, then I am pleased with who we got. As long as it doesn't frick up the existing decade old rivalries. So hopefully that doesn't happen.

So welcome aboard and y'all and the Aggies are going to catch an earful, but just don't take it personal and remember that conceit is official, you will then be a member of the premier conference in America.

I look forward to visiting the aTm and Mizzou campuses in the future as well as watching UA skull frick both teams everytime we play.

Thanks Titus and eveyrone for the welcome.

I've gotten a pretty good impression of the SEC fans as a whole from what I've seen. I've even seen SEC fans taking up the fight against posters speaking bad about Mizzou.

In cyberspace it's one thing, Mizzou is in for some culture shock when the SEC fans start rolling into town!! The Mizzou fans are not vast enough or prepared for what is coming their way.

We've had to deal with Corn Husker fans for years does that help prepare us?

Kentucky and Vandy could leave tomorrow as far as I am concerned...aTm recently won several national championships outside of football and Mizzou will kick your arse in the East.

Probably similar. Back several years ago when OU had a home and home with UA I read several articles and posts on message boards by OU fans who were blown away by the sheer number of RVs and fans that made the trip to Norman as well as the sea of RVs in Tuscaloosa (I was st that game BTW) for the game here.

OU fans also spoke very highly of their trip to, and treatment while in, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Some of the things I read or heard from OU fans and/or reporters said that the Bama fans coming to Norman was similar to when Nebraska would come to town, but the number of RVs and fans from UA was much, much, greater.

I have no doubt that most Big 12 schools' fans support their teams and take their football seriously, but it is a whole other level with the SEC.

So yes, I think a visiting SEC fanbase will be similar to Nebraska, OU, or Texas, only bigger. Just imagine if Mizzou was ranked #2 and OU or NU was ranked #1 and coming to town. Well that's what pretty much any SEC game would be like.

An SEC team with a losing record would bring probably as many fans and enthusiasm as one of those other schools would while ranked #1.

Yes I am slightly biased.

Oh and for the record, I don't recall reading any bad reviews from OU fans who made the trek to Tuscaloosa or were in Norman when UA came out there. Of course since UA was going through a bad time then and OU won both games, I'm sure that helped their perception of the trip. But that also speaks to the Southern hospitality of SEC teams that even when you come here and win, you are still treated with class and respect while visiting.

Sorry for the length and choppy nature of this post, I was interrupted by the Misses several times while trying to type it up on my phone.
