I have no doubt that most Big 12 schools' fans support their teams and take their football seriously, but it is a whore other level with the SEC.

Say what?

Anytime there is change it will be met with resentment. That's just human nature. People fear the unknown. Y'all are the new kids on the block and will catch an earful early and often I imagine. Especially if you struggle early and against OOC opponents I'm sure you will hear things like "can't hack it in a real conference", or "you're making us look bad getting best by TCU/SMU, etc", but every team has their low points.

Hell, Bama lost to Louisiana Monroe and Utah in the Sugar Bowl since Saban has been here, but we'be also gone something like 45-5 over the last 50 games with a Heisman Trophy and BCSCG win and shooting for another of each this season with a little luck, no pun intended.

Auto correct on my phone. Should have been whole. I saw that and made the edit immediately after posting but I guess you got it before I did.

Autocorrect leads to more typos than it prevents in my experience. I hate that shite.

LSU fans throw piss filled ballons on visiting teams fans at tigger stadium.

Not sure about the porta-Jon comment. Maybe they flip them over or something. Who knows?

LSU fans and tigger stadium also reek of corndogs.

Ahhh ok. Thanks, I understand now.

I guess it's one of those new things I have to learn about as a new fan in the SEC. On another site I saw a story that had a list of things I had to learn but they missed that one.. lol.

Yet here you are starting threads about them...

Now I'm glad I read the thread before posting this reply, almost verbatim.

See, when I read something like this... MU fans just being glad that they're being given a shot... it makes me feel kind of bad that other SEC fans are acting like such fricking pussies over the invite. Welcome aboard.

A&M won one national title in the 30s and hasn't had a top 5 finish in over a half century. Slive and every SEC school president knew that A&M was a sub-par program before they were ever offered.

A&M brings a lot of TV sets and exposure to Texas fertile recruiting grounds without taking away conference or national titles from other conference members - win/win/win across the board for the SEC.

Thanks for the compliment and the Welcome.

Believe me I'm sure you will run across Missouri fans that will make you want to hit them and say wake up at times, I know I do. All large groups have them and I can attest to that from reading the Kansas City Star websites comments area under the stories. I have many times slapped my forehead and said do we have to claim responsibility for them as a fan-base due to comments that make me cringe.

As an MU fan I could easily take offense to all these posters that say these kinds of things and type out many stats and all to try and prove you wrong.

But I'm going to choose to say just one thing. You all have the right to your opinion and and although I disagree with your opinions and believe you aren't giving Missouri enough credit it's OK. We're the new Kid on the block and it's going to be up to us on the field or court to earn your respect. We shall see what happens after the adjustment period that will be needed for Mizzou to get used to SEC style football.

I do hope in a few years we will all look back on this as it was a good thing for all concerned. Right now I'm just proud that the best conference in college football invited us to the party.

That's not to mention baseball and other sports of which I'm not familiar with enough to speak to.

A&M is good. Rob Childress is a solid coach and is a great pitching coach. In his first year, they went 25-30 but 2007 they went 48-19, won the Big 12 tourney, and made a super. They've been to the tourney every year since and made the CWS last year.

Missouri isn't that good. Made the tourney every year from 2003-2009 but didn't make much noise. Last 2 years they didn't make it.

I'm a Kentucky fan and realize that we aren't the best the SEC has to offer but at least we have basketball. What does Mizzou and Texas A&M give besides money?

A&M did finish 8th in the Director's Cup Standings for best overall athletic programs last year. Pretty damn impressive.

There are 2 key ingredients needed to be a great football team. Resources and proximinty to top flight talent. A&M has both.
