it sucks being a rutgers fan right now. i feel like the girl at the dance that nobody wants to dance with. my greatest hope is that the big east implodes, forcing notre dame to move to either the b1g or the acc, hopefully taking rutgers along with them. the only silver lining i see is that the big east keeps its bcs bid through 2015, and with the 3 schools leaving, maybe i can see rutgers in a bcs bowl.

I don't think Rutgers would be a package deal with Notre Dame

actually they are, b1g wont go to an odd number of teams again, so they would add two, nd and rutgers.

NOW if nd decides to join the acc, they're partner would be uconn most likely and rutgers would be screwed.

Rutgers brings the NYC tv market and have been mentioned several times as a potential expansion target. It wouldn't surprise me if Big10 went after them and ND.

Why the hell would ND take Rutgers with them?

If the big east collapses, I think rutgers is on the outside looking in.

Don't laugh at Rutgers being ND's dance partner if that ever happens.

People laughed at Mizzou to the SEC too, and Rutgers has better TV markets and the same AAU status that Mizzou has.

UCONN wants the ACC, Mizzou is off of the Big 10s radar forever (if they were ever on it), so Rutgers is the easy choice for the Big 10 in the East if they ever land ND.

How many people in NYC give a shite about Rutgers though?

Coming from the East Coast, college football is not that big of a deal

All NFL

B1g will take two schools.

If big east implodes, nd needs a place.

If they go to the b1g, who would go with them?

Its not about nd "taking" rutgers with them, its about the b1g needing to add 2 schools.

The only hope the BE has is to cut the single sport membership shite. Now they're talking about adding football only members. Bunch of idiots.

How many people in STL and KC care about Mizzou football?

The sole reason OSU And OU did not get into the Pac (without the Texas schools) is because of TVs, or lack thereof, in Oklahoma. You and I both know that you'd both be team 13 and team 14 in the Pac if it were at all possible.

TV's drive this, whether a given area is a college football mecca or not.

Not saying its fair, or that it makes complete sense, but we have enough data now to draw that conclusion.

IF ND comes, and if the ACC is off limits, then Rutgers is the Big 10's only choice. Mizzou is gone. No other Big 12 team is a real possibility. No other BE team is an option.

If the big east implodes, nd has to go somewhere for its other sports outside of football.

I hope it doesn't. I hate to see teams get left out in the cold. Rutgers and UConn deserve better. Cincinnati, Louisville and USF probably do too. All those schools have put a lot of effort into improving their programs.

ACC preference goes in this order:
ND
UConn
Rutgers

It all hinges on ND

Doesn't it seem ridiculous that Conference USA was always considered not worthy of a getting an automatic BCS birth, but the Big East has retained its BCS status by slowly raiding a bunch of Conference USA schools over the last several years? I guess if Houston, ECU, SMU, UCF, and Memphis don't join, the Big East will retain its BCS status by inviting UAB, UTEP, and Marshall.

Isn't it odd that the B1G is intent on taking AAU schools...of which Notre Dame is not a member?

Watch the Big 12 take Louisville as their 11th member and then a BYU (football only)/Notre Dame (all but football) split to fill out their league.

Well there are the 2 miltary academies - Army and Navy. Not only could the Big Ten Network raise the subscription fees in Maryland and New York but also in the metropolitan areas that contain military bases (DC, San Diego, South Florida, etc.)
