Remember a few weeks ago when many of you asked us why we kept making fun of Baylor when a couple posters called some insults "baylor insults"? Consider this entire thread your answer.

Also, I heard BaylorFans, their fan site that looks like a shitty 7th grade web design project, melted down and crashed when we made our announcement from all the traffic.

Bragging rights are at stake for a lot of years before we play them again (if ever).

We have the chance to have scoreboard on them for at least a decade.

That was the number of tickets sold announced by David Smoak on his radio show earlier. There's going to be some sweaty bodies in close proximity Friday night.

Nah. We've got Ole Piss, Cowbell State, and Vandy sharing the load.

I will give her this... She does appear to have a monsterous rack.

...And I'm sorry, but any Baylor fan that is happy to see A&M go is a complete idiot.

While I won't defend the Baylor fan on here, I will defend Baylor which I think is actually a better long term get than Texas Tech. Tech is coming off their best decade in their football history, and they have the same number of Big 12 South Division titles as Baylor -- zero. And they still lag behind in total conference titles -- four to zero. That's right, Tech has never won an outright major conference title.

Baylor has a large endowment (larger than Tech's) and a better academic reputation. The private school thing also helps you skirt some disclosure laws. It's always good to have one in your conference.

Baylor is also fourth in total Big 12 titles in all sports. Second among current members once A&M leaves! Their 42 conference titles is more than ISU, Tech, KSU, and Mizzou COMBINED (36).

Baylor's also won two national titles in all sports, both recently, putting them ahead of Tech and KSU, but tied with Mizzou.

Their rank in CFB Data Warehouse's all-time football programs is 45th, which is no great shakes, but its better than half of the remaining Big XII:

49 - Kansas
63 - Texas Tech
65 - Okie St
69 - Iowa St
70 - Kansas St

Baylor's bad, but even accepting their third tier stats, they still have traditionally outperformed FIVE of the remaining Big IX schools. Let that sink in what a sham of a conference remains.

Baylor's not a must have, but there also not this poison pill like some complain.

How do you jump from 4th place to 2nd if one member (who apparently is ahead of you in the standings) leaves? It would seem that you could do no better than move to 3rd.

I love the poor Baylor folk. Pay twice the price of UT and A&M for half the education.

So true, yet they refuse to admit it.
