well, the ACC commish said that 10 schools had applied to the ACC

If they got 10, I wonder how many the SEC has received?

As said by Mandel in response to this news.

ACC thumbs nose at WVU academics. SEC wants TV sets, and W Va doesn't have enough of them.

might be interesting to check out the comments to that story as they appear later ...

Might also be interesting to follow how many couches get burnt by midnight!

Damn they're going to try and take out their frustration on LSU. Should be a GOOD game saturday, they'll teach the SEC not to piss them off

Wasnt TAMU rejected at 1st as well.....thinking there is more to this unless SEC really wants Mizzou or Kansas

I don't think the SEC wants Mizzou, I'm thinking they want FSU, Clemson or VT.

Yes, please. One or more of the ACC schools in NC would be good as well (though less likely b/c they seem pretty tight and basketball oriented).

Mizzou is the fall back, and like I said this past Saturday the SEC would take Houston before they would add West Virginia.

I was thinkming of their vote mot to expand way back in August. It was TAMU related at the time, but they left the door open as it seems. Is FSU really gonna pay the 20 mil to exit?

this is asinine and completely unsubstantiated. the choices were not UH or WVU

i think its mixed feeling on both side w/ Mizzou. I think the SEC wants to see what happens w/ UT & OU and if the ACC adds UCONN & Rutgers before it makes its next move. If the ACC continues to raid the Big East, FSU & Clemson may come into play. I think the SEC really wanted VT but their administration is being too fickle. And VT has experience w/ the Big East, so they like adding those school. FSU however has no desire to play in the northeast any more than they have to against basketball schools. Supposedly, they have drawn a line in the sand over UConn w/ the treat to leave. However, if the ACC added UT and ND which is a possibility, the football schools would be very comfortable staying put.
