If I am those Big East team, I would steer clear of the Big 12 if I can and try to salvage the Big East.

You only had 8 football schools before...you lost two...add East Carolina and Villanova...could those two be much worse than Pitt and Syracuse in football?

Villanova doesn't have a very good football or baseball program. Otherwise i would say add them.

they help but would they be enough to fill the void that was lost with the teams that have left. If BYU joins that's a big win for the big 12.

Yeah, I didn't think the BYU as an independent was going to last long.

Actually, BYU may have played their hand perfectly. Foreseeing the imminent conference realignment, they went independent and positioned themselves for a BCS conference invite.

If Mizzou bails, would they add Memphis? Houston? USF? Colorado State (good travel partner for BYU)? Air Force? Interesting.

Big 12 set to take 4 Big East Members, expand to 14

Apparently they can't count because that's still only 13 members.

So, will Ken Starr threaten legal action against these schools on behalf of the remaining Big East schools?

Thank goodness we have Baylor out there protecting the integrity of college football and looking out for the student-athlete. I'm sure they will be vehemently threatening litigation to keep their student athletes from having to make long flights to West Virginia and to prevent the collapse of the Big East conference from happening. And what about Texas high school football? They don't want Texas kids being poached off by these Eastern schools do they? That would be bad for the State of Texas as a whole. Thank you Baylor for looking out for the little guy.

Looks like Texas and OU got exactly what they wanted: a Big East/Mountain West schedule with a BCS name attached to it. Congrats! I look forward to an annual SEC v. Texas/OU winner BCS title game year after year!

This move of merging the remnants of the Big 12 and the Big East and MWC is literally the equivalent of if Alabama decided it wanted to join the Big East. It is that laughable the con Texas and OU are playing on the sport of college football. And the AP voters will buy right into it.

Baylor is truly looking out for the good of college football. Thank goodness for Ken Starr and the wonderful work he is doing. Texas football tradition is important, and Baylor is on the frontlines of preserving it. Baylor is also in opposition of the evil doers in college football who want expansion. Surely they will be against expanding with teams from the Big East as that would lead to the death of that conference. Baylor=integrity.

I love all these crap teams coming into the Bevo 9 because it gives Mizzou the perfect excuse to bolt.
They can play the "when we signed on, it wasn't with these losers" card.

if not all those teams are accurate, and its only 4 big east teams coming in, it is a sign mizzou is gone.

expand to 13 and then lose mizzou to make 12

Anyone else thinks it's stupid that the Big 12 has 10 and the Big 10 has 12?
