Its funny how everything always seems to come down to some pissing match between AU and bama.

I'd love to play Florida every year but I hope Bama blocks Missouri. I don't want to go to the east. I love the LSU game and have no desire to play any east teams other than UF and UGA with UT sprinkled in every now and then.

Missouri will come in and play in the East. Kind of weird, but that's my guess.

Just accept it man, nobody hates you like we do. Trust me, its a lot of responsibility maintaining rivalries.

Middle tier programs just don't have lots of rivals..there's no need to fabricate one based on how many games you've played.

isn't that mostly because UF wasn't the powerhouse it is now back then? the stronger your school's history, the more 'rivals' you have.

So why doesn't bama have less rivals now? They are far less of a powerhouse than they were in the 60's and 70's

I haven't noticed any Florida fans on here talking about auburn being a rival.

It actually makes decent sense. The closest school to Missouri is AR. However, the 3 closest schools after that are Kentucky, Vandy, and Tennessee. IMO AU is gonna stay in the West and Mizzou will just play in the East. it's gonna happen IMO.

Neither AU or UA is a rival to UF. At least not to the veteran Gator fans.

Well thats all the proof i needed of the 4 uf posters on this site none of them are clammoring for auburn. Cleary auburn vs. uf never mattered.

AU/UF series hasn't been competitive enough to be considered a rivalry.

ETA: Just a joke Gators.

This isn't even about that. It doesn't matter. AU will stay or go, whatever just like before.

What this is about is:

1. Is Mizzou a good addition. People with a lot more information than any of us have already decided they are.

2. Should bama/ut matter enough to not do what most think is best for the SEC.

wait, so it's ok for Auburn to want to bring in Mizz so they can jet to the east and secure their traditional match ups/rivalry but Alabama and UT are being difficult by saying no because they want to secure their traditional match ups/rivalry?

If Bama wants to keep the TN matchup over the Iron Bowl, then I say let them. It's fine. As stated earlier, Auburn had to give up its traditional matchups in '92. Make the move and let Bama chose which rivalry they want to continue. Seems fair to me?

in the interest of being fair, sure I'll concede that. My issue is the whole attitude that it's ok for everyone to rage on UT and Alabama because they're trying to do what they feel is in their best interest while Auburn is doing the same thing and is being applauded.

Adding Mizz seems like making progress just so we can say we're progressing. Personally I'd rather wait for someone out east. Like I have a say in the matter...
