Any chance we get to play to the Aggies on Turkey Day?

With the longhorns acting like pansy-asses, can we jump at this opportunity to re-kindle a rivalry with A&M in front of a national audience?
It seems like a home-and-home with these guys on Thanksgiving Day would generate a LOT of interest (and $$$) for both schools.

It's been tossed around. I'm sure A&M would be for it. It would depend on Arky, LSU, and the SEC.
However, if Texas ever wanted to bring back the rivalry, I'm sure we would go back to it. (I would be surprised if this hiatus lasted forever.)

Screw t.u.
If LSU would enjoy a T-Day game, then A&M would love to play it with our new conference partners.
If not, that's okay too. But it could be a lot of fun.

The Whorns non-conference schedule is all locked up next season. What are the chances that New Mexico doesn't win a game between now and 9/8/2012?
Sept. 1 WYOMING TBA
Sept. 8 NEW MEXICO TBA
Sept. 15 at Mississippi TBA

I'm for it, at least until sippy comes sniveling back to ask for a series reboot

Nope, Aggies should fit in sometime in Sept with other cupcakes. LSU/Arky is much bigger game on Friday after Thanksgiving.

I know LSU and its fans (for the most part) would definitely be in favor of it. I doubt Arky would...that's one of the few times in a season where the attention is squarely on Arkansas.
No offense to Arkansas. They are building a fine program under Petrino, but the LSU-Arkansas game - while increasingly important - has never turned into a "rivalry" game IMO.
LSU-A&M will instantly be a better rivalry game than LSU-Arky, and thus I think it needs to be played at a special time, either to kickoff the season each year or to end the regular season each year.

I like the current set up.
At least Arkansas/LSU is competitive.
LSU would be drilling TAMU every year right now.

rival games generally are at the end of the year. A&M is a true rival
Move Arky up to Sept, we don't give a crap about them
Yea to LSU-A&M on Turkey Day!!!!

We already play Arkansas in front of a national audience the weekend of Thanksgiving.
What do you propose we do with that soon to be 20 year old rivalry?
I know most of LSU's fans don't consider Arky to be much of a rival but if they beat us again this year (they've won 3 of the last 4) we may have to acknowledge they exist...

I believe this.
At some point, I think the Whorns and Ags will come to their senses and play each other again.
Though it may take the thread of the Texas Legislature just as it took the threat of the Florida Legislature and Alabama Legislature to get UF/FSU and UA/AU to play each other.

Texas will try to get ND to play them.
I would think ad revenues for a nationwide Texas/Aggie game would be pretty lucrative, though.

I would imagine they would but I doubt it's ever at the end of the season again JMO

And probably with two trips to Austin for each one to South Bend.

I love it, lsu is the only sec team that wants a&m. It's sad your program is so good, yet a&m is your new rival, really a&m can't beat Arkansas and that's your rival.

I would be all about LSU-A&M home and homes on Thanksgiving night. texas who?
Posted on 10/17/11 at 9:26 pm to Bamainozarks
but...but...we beat Baylor!

it would be funny if in a few years its A&M/LSU to end the year on TDay and A&M/texas to begin the season.

Texas is waiting their 6 years before they go Indy. Then they'll want a game with A&M. I hope the Aggies tell them GFY.
