I don't want expansion either, but I'd be in favor of upgrading the conference.

ie: kicking out arky and/or the mississippi schools for TAMU, UNC, etc.

How would kicking out arky or Mississippi schools for a&m or unc be up grade? Have you ever been to a&m? Maybe you are just talking out you your arse, I hope.

I'm not a fan of expansion, but at the same time getting rid of aggy AND moving to the Pac is almost like a dream come true.

I think the perfect conference structure is a 10 team league so all the teams play each other, but that's a thing of the past because there's to much money to be made in conference championship games.

That's not an upgrade, just an update. A change for change's sake.

I don't see why Texas should be in the Pac.

Austin is more a west coast type town than midwest, east coast, or southeast. It just fits the west coast mentality.

Add to that, there aren't a whole lot of options here.
SEC? Don't fit.
ACC? Nope.
Big 10? Maybe but the rust belt is dying and I have no desire to travel to Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, etc.

That leaves the Pac-10, the Big 10 or trying to "fix" the Big 12, and there isn't an easy fix for the Big 12. Geographically it's landlocked, there aren't any additions that could be made without taking from another conference.

Also...I have a brother in Phoenix, an Aunt in Portland, and a cousin in LA. I like the Pac for selfish reasons.

You have to be proactive Tom and not reactive. Its just the way it is , the SEC does not need to be caught with out pants down. Now, im not for 16 teams but I am for 14 teams and believe it will make for some intriguing matchups if at least Texas A&M comes over to the SEC.

I'm not liking expansion. 16 is too big to work well. The WAC figured that out over 10 years ago.

Really? It was never a problem up until now. You are just butthurt that things didn't go your way so you are portraying a false image of excitement. Keep living in your alternate reality.

By the way, why is it that Texas doesn't fit the SEC? Oh yea thats right, your school is a rare exception in this state. Y'all don't even fit in with Texas culture.

Texas wanted to go to the Pac 10 back before the Big XII formed. I have family on the west coast so I've always been for moving out there, it's for selfish reasons sure but it's not new.

As to wanting to be away from aggy, that's nothing new with anyone I ever talked to in my 4 years in Austin. I hate playing at Kyle Field, if I never have to go there again that'd suit me just fine. The entire aggy identity is built on hating Texas, hell I've seen more upside down longhorn shirts than "gig'em" shirts in the last 10 years. If you want to run away, I'll pack your bags for you.

Why didn't y'all leave last year? I mean who cares if A&M wanted to go somewhere else, y'all should have gone anyways but you didn't. Then you said you wanted to stay in the Big 12 and keep the league together.

I've never been one for keeping the Big XII together. I did feel like we should have gone to the Pac last year but then ESPN offered 300 million reasons to stay put and try to work things out. So we tried to make it work, it's clear now it's just not going to work so it's time to move on. I for one couldn't be happier.

My only fear is that LSU will become more a part of the Big 12 and less a part of the SEC due to proximity to teams like A&M and if Missouri should join - I would hate to lose the LSU Auburn game and even Florida for that matter even though our schedule would become a little easier.

The super conferences would have to go to 9 or possibly even 10 game schedules so it may not matter that much.

As it relates to SEC, I'm of the if it's not broke don't fix it mentality but I can understand being proactive to get the teams you want to keep your geographical base to prevent absurd travel.

I mean the PAC 12 will be all over the country.

Can someone tell me how a 16 team conference would work logistically?
