Well now is the time to get the ball rolling. I sure hope earlier reports were false that Martin tended to not want T A&M in the conference. I say bring them on . Aggies are and have always been a great rivalry for the Tigers. Let the fun begin now.

There isn't a bid! You just have been talking to Mike Slive for three weeks.

“There is no bid,” Loftin said. “There has never been a bid to invite us into the SEC at any time in the past and if it were to occur in the future, we would certainly want to evaluate that.”

A&M is trying to get more money from the big 12 if they don't they'll leave simple as that all they want is a fair deal

Scona just said Tamu might have to pay 30million to get out of the big 9
Considering the Big 12-2+1-3 owes TAMU a whole lot of money that they never delivered on I think it's safe to say that they won't ask for a thing when TAMU leaves. TAMU could just say to take it out of what is owed to them

Now that A&M is free, it becomes "Okay, since you like us, we'll give you an invitation"
What kind of time frame are we looking then. Sounds like this may take all season to figure out if it happens

my guess would be either very quickly like before the season starts...or December after the regular season
ain't going down once play starts, not "publicly" anyway IMO

It has to be done by Aug 22 for A&M to play in the 2012 SEC season. The Ags do not want to play 2 more years in the B12. So I would expect something to go down quickly

But if leaving after this season is going to cost $30M in buyout fees, while waiting until 2013 may cost far less, given tough economic times it may be best to hold off a year.

I believe that's what the lawyers are looking at. I think the exit fee will be negotiated to 10-12 million.
We have legitimate reasons to be leaving

I would think so with the conference commissioner basically saying we don't need ya
ok, see ya and your crappy 9 team conference is my answer

Well this is great. Adding them hurts our reputation. We won't be just the bad boys on the block anymore...now we will be the bad boys with the retarded kid tagging along and trying to talk shite.

We've already got Ole Miss and Houston Nutt... we're adding A&M.

good point but in this conference abusing the tard is accepted

I've got dollars to donuts that TexasTiger08 couldn't get accepted to UTa or A&M. This anger has to be coming from somewhere. It's natural for such a young person

JMO, but I'm guessing that aTm will have to officially withdraw from the Big 12 first and than partition the SEC for membership. And I would bet this has all been worked out already.

What?
maybe you should do a little research before blindly throwing out ridiculous comments that make other Tiger fans look stupid.
aTm is an incredible academic institution with a highly successful athletic tradition. Calling them the 'retard' of the SEC would be similar to calling you the 'genius' of TD.com - they would be equally, outstandingly, wrong.

I saw an ms paint thread portraying aTm as inbred hillbillies, but you are saying the contrary?
Well now I'm just confused.
