Having made more hiring decisions than I care to remember, I'm less than impressed with what seems to be going on in the LSU Athletic Department.

If Coach O knew he was planning to replace Canada since probably in September, why wasn't a solid plan in place to hire the best OC available?

Why does Lane Kiffin seem to be a part of every LSU coaching search? Haven't we waited for that bride before?

Why would ANYONE at LSU want Steve Ensminger to be the OC? He's doing a good job in his current position and is a good recruiter. Keep him there. He hasn't set the world on fire or has a national reputation as a top tier OC.

There appears to be some political back door B.S. going on and once again, LSU fans may be the loser in this charade.

I hope I'm wrong. Time will tell.

I think you're a hundred percent correct yeah I have to have some courage to hire a guy to run the offense with modern-day football and adapt to the changes of the game and to utilize your athletes in a strategic way to win games it's like a big game of chess and you just can't hand the keys to anybody but if you're going to pay someone a million dollars to do a job well they oughta be pretty darn good at it you would think

It’s been wildly reported to be a problem since October. Even if it is December, you have still had 30+ days to put a plan together. From sauces on here, it sounds like the only names they have in place have come from a message board... major issue

Think about the "search" that gave us O to begin with.

so exactly seems to be going on? you admit you don't know and it could be bad or it might not be. be patient and you'll find out for sure.

I doubt the actual decision was made that early in the season. but, since you've hired people before, did you interview for a position while the position was still occupied or unceratain? I don't think that's done very much in football.

we really don't know if anyone does. hell, he may not want the job.

there's that "seems" word again. Canada was fired 2 days ago. give them a chance to find, offer and negotiate.

of course there is always politics in college football; do not think LSU is unique in that regard. UF, FSU, UT, UT, AU, A&m,OSU, Michigan, ETC, ETC. there is politics in college football. big donors, ex-players, politicians, etc all have to have their say.

imo, Steve is not going to be promoted to OC. I use only common sense as my guide.

No, it's a legitimate point. Poor execution of the search has led to a near revolt by the LSU fan base.

you really do not know that now do you? LSU is not talking. any reason you have to believe it's being poor executed is based on rumor alone. my god man, did you panic when you were hiring all those people? there are all kinds of situations that slow the process down unless you were hiring fry cooks or something.

it sounds like you don't know what names they have in place. LSU has, so far, kept a tight lid on this. so why assume the worst?

I don't know. I have seen this process unfold up close and personal in the past.

The fact that there are conflicting narratives and talk of Co-OC's is troubling.

As you continue to point out, I don't know. Then again, I may completely correct. I'm beginning to smell the rotten odor that comes from the direction of the Capital and Governor's mansion in all of this. I hope I'm wrong.

O mentioned Ensminger after A&m for a reason. This is who he wants and all the smoke is heading towards that

How to you know there is no solid plan? Did you know that LSU would hire the OL coach from the Chargers?

What the frick are you talking about?

You disapprove of the fact that a replacement OC has not been hired since Canada was let go 48 hours ago (Friday night)? And your hot take conclusion is that the governor and legislature is somehow to blame?

That’s the stupidest shite I’ve ever heard.

Ensminger had his audition for OC in the 2016 Bama (0 points) and Florida (10 points) games and the 2018 Citrus Bowl. (17 points) That's 27 points in those 3 games if my Mandeville HS/Choctawhatchee HS/L.S.U. education allows me to add up the total.

Think I'll pass on him as OC.

Let him continue to coach TE's and add WR's, since TE's and WR's do the exact same things. (Run routes, catch passes, block) I'm sure he'd be better with WR's than MJ in any case.

Use MJ's vacated spot to hire a full time ST's coach........

Not a conclusion, a highly educated guess based upon first hand experience with past LSU coaching hires. I've seen it before. The BOS all believe they know more about football than Vince Lombardi did. The BOS is appointed by the Governor. That idiot had his say, no doubt about it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the current BOS was selected by Jindal.
