What is it with people saying they question Jimbo as a coach? The guy turned Florida state from a dumpster fire into a national championship team in a pretty short period of time and hasn't lost a game this year. They aren't as dominant as they were last year but they still went 13-0. It takes focus from a team who wasn't as talented but still held it together to go undefeated for the second year in a row. Questioning his coaching ability at this point is kind of crazy I think.

Urban Meyer? that's not realistic

undefeated at FSU last two seasons. Not going to leave the program he took over from bowden.

could be a realistic hire

great coach, not leaving tempe for family reasons.

LSU isn't hiring someone with zero head coaching experience and brown teeth.

Justin Fuente
My top realistic candidate if miles left

Dabo Swinney
realistic, but I don't think he's a great coach.

Would be a good hire. also realistic. however him not politicking for his team in 2011 rubbed me the wrong way.

Gary Patterson
makes 4 million at TCU a year. is the king of the ft worth area. unlikely to leave TCU.

Dan Mullen
lots of questionable decisions on the backend of this season with the players he had on offense. The SEC frowns on head coaching poaching

Rich Rodriguez
not likely leaving arizona and after watching his shite get pushed in by oregon, I think it's turned off a lot of folks.

stanford is regressing back to pre harbaugh days

Lane Kiffin
is this a joke? he's a great play caller, but not a HC

of notre dame? I like kelly a lot, but he's not leaving ND for LSU

You can give me Lane Kiffen, young and charismatic, can recruit with the best of them, has been inside the evil empire, knows his Xs and Os and has an offense that clearly can work in the SEC. It's contingent on if he gets Chief to stay and if so, home run hire.

you want lane kiffin as head coach of LSU?
have you missed the last 8 years of his coaching jobs?

which isn't even true. Stanford had 7 straight losing seasons, including 2 with Harbaugh. This is Shaw's 4th season. His 3 prior have been better than all but one of Harbaugh's seasons at Stanford. And if he gets a bowl win, this season (Shaw's worse) will be tied with Harbaugh's 2nd best.

David Shaw seems like a good fit, but the folks at LSU might not take too kindly to his type.
david shaw makes les miles look like mike leach. the dude is way too conservative. stanford has regressed during shaw's tenure. he is awful.

Rich Rod's would take the job and would likely succeed but Tiger fans would never accept his scheme.

Why would Jimbo leave FSU for LSU? His name keeps coming up on this board. What makes people think he would leave there to come here?

I doubt he would but it doesn't hurt to ask either.

quote:can we stop with this blatant lie? his first 3 seasons his teams won their division and went to a BCS Bowl. The last 2 years he did it without Andrew Luck. This year they've taken a step back. A step so far back that if they win a bowl game, it will be equal to Jim Harbaugh's second best season at Stanford.

David Shaw is doing just fine.

Jimbo just isn't that good of a coach IMO, even with one of the most talented teams in the country he is just barely beating shite teams.

Jimbo is unbeaten in 2 full seasons. You are not very smart

Surprised in 5 pages I don't think I saw Hudspeth's name. Know it wouldn't exactly be shooting for the stars, but he's done well with ulala and knows the recruiting trails in the area. And proven he is capable of head coaching, which I find important (eg, kiffen/muschamp/kingsberry/etc.)
Higher profile, yet reasonable candidate due to publicly known interest--del rio (not saying I necessarily would want him.)
Fantasyland--I think it would just be really interestingto see what john gruden could do
