you don't ask for a clause in your contract that automatically tacks on another year for an 8 win season.

That's, in essece, what he's asking for.

I have them, but they dry out too quickly. I'm just more comfortable without them.

Sorry.

Here's the way I see it. He has earned the right, his record shows, to not be fired after an 8 win season. If it becomes a trend, then sure, we should be able to get rid of him, but a trend would entail several years of mediocrity which would be beyond the length of a typical contract. So if we put in his contract that he wont be fired after an 8 win season, then when that contract is up, if there have been several, to the point where it is a trend, then we can get rid of him. Thats my .02 on it.

I hope he stays, he has been a very successful coach and has caused many heart attacks, but you cant argue with his record.

I have heard all kinds of stuff. But the wording of that statement sounds juvenile and unprofessional. I don't think Miles would make that sort of statement. The paper also said that the Michigan job will be a lot different than it was in the past. The program is a mess, 12 teams now, a conference championship game, etc. Not the same job it was back in the day. And LSU has a good chance of being kinda special next year.

We'll just have to wait and see. He's a good man, and maybe he needs to hear his good friends in Michigan out as a courtesy. I just don't know. I do know that this decision must be killing him.

But he would like to see a commitment from the administration that he's not going to be fired after an eight win season.

I wonder if he asked the same of Michigan?

If Les stays...I'll love him - I'll know he really wants to be here - He can even make a few mistakes and I'll overlook them. Otherwise...just let him go where we always knew he wanted to be.

THIS. Best of luck to him if he goes, I don't blame him for getting out of this fricking circus that is run by the LSU fan base

Picked to win National Championship

Loses 3 games and one to in-state rival and losing a 24 point lead.
