Would Napier accept a "NO BAMA" clause in his LSU HC Contract?

Please discuss from his perspective.

From LSU's perspective, i think it's absolutely necessary to protect our reputation from losing (another) coach to Alabama football program like we are small potatoes. There's no buyout amount that can make LSU whole from that harm.

Well he's got 7 years until Saban's contract ends, right?

Why would any serious minded coach sign that kind of deal?

The current coach at Bama was taken from the Dolphins, not LSU

No coach would sign that. Saban went to the NFL, so there’s that.

Happens all the time, you just put in a large buyout if he were to leave for another conference school

While not always specific to conferences, most coaches have a buyout in their contract if they voluntarily leave for another job it’s very common.

Probably 10m+

Regardless, if he gets the LSU job he ain’t leaving for Bama. If everything said about him is true, he’s smarter than that

Choose Dolphins over LSU... then BAMA over Dolphins.

Saban is coaching until he's 75 at a minimum.

All kidding aside about Riley, because he would be a grandslam, but another reason among the many that Riley won’t be coming to LSU is his $10m buyout if he leaves for another job

It used to be about $4m but It got bumped up on his most recent raise/extension

Just bring up Riley to say - in the context of Napier - buyouts if a coach leaves for another job are very common
