Would Bielema be a sensible hire for Nebraska?

He could but he'd have to bring the same style of play that he had at Wiscy and first few years at Arkansas, big offensive line, massive running backs, and run the ball all day long. When Dan Enos came to Arkansas and they lost that identity it went south (more south) for him. He would probably hate it but Barry Alvarez knew what to do an Wisc and when Bielema didnt want to do that they parted ways.

Sorry, we don't want him, and our new AD wouldn't consider him, anyway. He knows the backlash he'd receive. It's Frost or bust.

I think he would have success at both Nebraska or Kansas State.

I think they could do better . Wisconsin has shown that Bert was not the reason they won because they are still winning .

Jesus Christ, finally. I thought I was the only one in the world that could see this. A lot of Arkansas fans don’t understand that Enos is a major problem. You have to have Alabama and LSU type talent to run the Enos style of offense in the SEC. The defenses are just too fast.

No, the biggest problem is the OL recruiting. The 2015 offense was the S&P #1 offense that year. There's a huge lack of talent across the board on this offense... look at the rosters for the 2013,2014,and 2015 teams and you'll see a lot of guys currently in the NFL right now (A.J. Derby, Collins, Denver Kirkland, Jonathan Williams, etc.). Can't really pinpoint anyone on this offense that is a surefire bet for the NFL outside of Ragnow. That's a bigger reason for the decline than Enos.

Huh, so in 2015 I guess we had that talent or just a fluke?
If we even had an average Oline than people would still be praising Enos.

I actually think Oregon State should go get him. The are massive on the OL and would do better with that scheme. That’s about as good as Bielema could do.

Only if Sam Pittman goes with him. Bielema is complete garbage without Pittman on his staff.

Although their record didn't always show it, Arky was a tough out when Jim Chaney was OC.

Yeah I agree with that also. But what do you do when you lack O-Line talent? You simplify the blocking schemes, use a lead blocker, and get downhill as fast as possible. They’re expected to hold blocks too long and it takes forever for the back to get to the LOS at times. They’re asking too much of the O-Line and don’t really make an effort to change anything. That’s why they are getting beat right now, and getting railed by teams with good defenses. They can’t sustain a drive.
I believe Enos’ system could succeed under different circumstances. I see what he’s trying to do, but it’s obviously not a fit.

A lot more than you currently have.
ETA: better qb
Better line
Better backs
2 good Tight Ends
Pretty good Receivers

It always cracks me up how these head coaches just rotate to another program. Maybe he is not a good head coach?

You put Austin on Brandon's teams and he performs better imo. Problem is Austin has been pummeled for a year and a half with zero support from the rest of the offense.

Nebraska, if they don't get Scott Frost, will get Les Miles.
Bielema to Kansas State would be a good fit if Bill Snyder retires.

I am no longer convinced his success at Wisconsin had much to do with him.
Prior to and after his tenure, Wisconsin has seemed to maintain a consistent philosophy. I have to think Alvarez is a big part of that.
Also, I just do not think Nebraska would want him right now.

Was pittman with him up at wisc?
Cause iirc pittman is stuck to chaneys hip. Just like at UT. First sign that jones was horrible when he made the nfl OL that he inherited look bad.

I’d say that’s fairly obvious at this point.
Alvarez has an extremely heavy hand in the football program, and does a pretty masterful job of keeping it between the ditches. They’ve gone through two coaching changes in the last 5 years and have been able to stay the course. The fact that both Bielema and Andersen were terrible after leaving there, as well as the fact that Chryst was a fairly mediocre coach at Pitt, tells you all you need to know about who’s the driving force behind Wisconsin’s success.
