Would Aranda be amenable to a wide open offense?

When he was here there was some buzz that he didn't like how the fast pace on offense put his defense in a jam sometimes.

Any link to where that information came from? I never heard that

He bitched about Canada in 2017 when he had like 2 healthy DL

Interesting. I never saw Canada's offense as all that fast paced.

Aranda was part one of the greatest college football teams in history. The “professor” is a very intelligent coach.

I’m not sure about the “wide open offense” but his current offense at Baylor is ranked 18th in the country in total offense, averaging 453 yard per game. His offense is ranked one spot behind Lincoln Riley’s at Oklahoma which is averaging 455.3 yard per game. Looks like whatever his offensive philosophy is it is working.

Aranda is very cerebral. Seems like he would work out with his OC how fast of a pace the offense would run on average, to still be able to prevent the defense from getting gassed by the 4th quarter every game.
I believe we all read and heard the rumors about Dave being frustrated that his defense was right back on the field so quickly in 2019 because the "Burreaux/Brady Points Machine" would often drive the length of the field and score in two or three plays, but that's a problem I'm certain he'd be happy to have again.
As far as his head butting with Canada, that was fairly well known and often talked about amongst those close to the program. Personally I thought Canada's offense would have been pretty good if he had a couple or three years to get his own recruits in... but the guy was reputably a pretty major peckerhead. I can see how an exceptionally calm, deep thinker like Aranda would butt heads with a boisterous a-hole like Canada.

I'm pretty certain that if Aranda has the horses to run his defense the way he wants, the offense can probably speed up or slow down as much as he sees fit.

Expand on what you mean by wide open. State is #7 in the country in time of possession. You can't put less pressure on a defense than that and most people would consider Leach's offense wide arse open. There is a difference between fast pace (Ole Miss & Tenn) and State slings it but long sustained drives and time of possession

Can’t you say this for any D minded coach?

Dave Aranda should be amenable to focusing on his current job because with so little head coaching experience at the P5 level, Aranda is not getting the LSU job. I mean the dude barely has a winning record.

The thing with Aranda is he will adjust the whole team based on strengths and weaknesses on both sides of the ball.
I don’t think he’s dead set on one thing. He will put his team in position to win at whatever cost

His Baylor offense is amongst the top half in cfb

Aranda will be open to whatever offense gives him the best chance to win. If he needs to adjust because of his current personnel he will do so.
The guy is widely thought of a great football mind. THATS why we need to get him. It’s sustainable unlike dudes that have some success and then feel the need to chase tail

It wasn’t fast paced at all. It takes forever to run all those shifts.
He was likely annoyed that our offense would sputter in big games and get his defense back on the field after 3 and outs. Or maybe he just didn’t like Matt Canada as a person- he certainly wouldn’t have been the only one in the program to feel that way.
