Normally I'd agree, but the Broyles award ceremony is today and he is there with several coaches. I'd think they'd be as plugged in as anybody.

Gruden is a messageboard pipe dream, with no guaranteed success on the college level.
Everybody with an opening has made a run at Patterson and Petersen over the last decade (give or take a year or two) with no success including some other SEC-W teams...

Why would Gundy leave his alma mater, where he has a chance to be competitive in a weak conference every year, to come to Arkansas? All things considered, it's a lateral move.

Gundy's got his concerns, just like most coaches. But given what was available, he's a great hire (if this is actually true). He's, essentially, Bobby Petrino without the baggage. A great offensive mind with more inroads into TX recruiting. If we give him a higher budget for his staff I think he could surpass Petrino's success here.
I just hope he can salvage the recruiting class. I know kids love the guy, but let's face it - Stillwater's not the easiest place to recruit to. I know Fayetteville isn't either, but it's at least NICE.

He had more success at Stillwater than Jimmy Johnson and Les Miles.
But yeah, he is going to fail away from there, because LSUexpert says it is so.
