No one has chance to look in the future.
Napier and Campbell are not guaranteed success like you think. Why do you think both will be a success? No one knows.

This could be true. But how do we know this? No one truly knows anything. We don't exactly know who Woodward has spoken to in the search. Remember in the baseball search we heard O'Sullivan and Casey but we didn't hear about Jay Johnson until nearly the end.
